Lolita Market over 228 Weekend

Over the long weekend, there was another market!  The one I'd attended as a vendor was Harajuku theme, and this one was specifically Lolita themed. Last year I attended as well!

The weather has been insufferably gloomy, and I was at home feeling very depressed and originally didn't want to go, but Neco convinced me to go out as it'd make me feel better.  And it did!!  Though I was rather hasty in getting ready so I wore an all-black ensemble for simplicity's sake:

JSK: Putumayo
Outer: Mad Punks
Bag: Ozz Angelo
Petticoats: Classical Puppets
The salon was as crowded as ever, and rather hot!  Beats being cold and clammy though!  Luckily, the rain had stopped that day so there were more customers.

I managed to get a snap that doesn't show anybody's face ^u^v

First Market Experience at Spring Harajuku Market!

Yesterday I went to a pop-up Spring Harajuku Market where I was a vendor! I split a table with my friend Kamiko. It was a very small and affordable market where the theme is, as the name implies, Harajuku fashions. This market in particular allows both secondhand and handmade items. The majority of the vendors seemed to be Lolita and Gyaru styles, with a couple of Punk/Goth items thrown into the mix.

It was a rainy, overcast day, as this entire long weekend has been.  I did a very simple makeup using one palette (Estee Lauder travel limited)

All Estee Lauder except the foundation and concealer
This lipstick did not wear well at all!!
I also wore a new outfit I made! It's a military-inspired Punk Goth Lolita type look. It's my first military-style dress and I quite like it! Unfortunately the punk plaid print on the skirt is out of print and I bought a scrap roll to make this T^T It is the same print as my red Punk Lolita skirt.

Beauty Expo + Pop Up Shops & Happy Prize!

The International Beauty Expo 2017 took place over the weekend and I attended with Kamiko! The entrance fee was NT$150 or NT$100 with a student ID so we got in for NT$100 ^u^v
Honestly I only bought one thing as I don't need much, but it was good exercise and we got tons of samples of more expensive products to try out!
There were many mascot suits at the expo! I only got a photo of one, but there were also Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh, Kung Fu Panda, and others!  It was a bit crowded so I don't have many photos of the event

The booths and vendors were mostly things you'd expect at a beauty expo, selling brushes, makeup, loads of gel nails and nail supplies, and skincare vendors. The most interesting one I saw is an acupressure fusion with fashion!

Normally, the pressure points on the ear can be activated using a small, seed-like black ball on an adhesive. The acupressure master applies the stickers to your ear at the correct points, and then you can just press on the "button" as needed.

Now there is a Swarovski version so it's more fashionable, it seems!

Chiffon in Winter for Lantern Festival

Winter has been really strange this year. It is suddenly hot, then suddenly cold! The theme randomly drawn for February, chiffon only, was very questionable as we did not know if it would be sunny, chilly, windy, etc. on the day of the meetup!

Well, it turns out it was chilly and windy!!! Nonetheless, six brave souls wore chiffon print dresses on that day!!!  (I personally wore two petticoats and opaque tights as well as safety shorts for warmth as well...)

Do you know the best way to keep warm on a chilly day?  Take action photos.  Specifically, jumping photos!

Before that though, remember to fuel up on some delicious Japanese pancakes!  We met up at 九州鬆餅/Kyushu Pancake Taiwan where we'd pre-ordered our pancakes and waffles so we didn't even have to wait for service. It's incredibly popular, so make sure to reserve seats!

Happy Galentine's or Valentine's Day!

Happy Galentine's Day!  Or Valentine's Day! A couple days ago, I was watching a Youtube video and the video creator mentioned something called "Galentine's Day," which is a fake holiday invented in the USA and celebrated on Feb. 13. The idea is that girls get together and have waffles for brunch. It doesn't matter whether you are single, dating, married, divorced, etc. It's just a time for women to get together and have fun and love each other!

Though it fell on a Monday this year, I did get together with Kamiko for brunch... at dinner.

I also tried a "cut crease" eyemake for the first time! I think it turned out pretty well considering it was my first time.
First cut crease!
Eyebrows seem too warm for me though T^T

Pokemon Makeup

Daily wear Pokemon makeup.
EDIT: so it turns out bloglovin' doesn't post to blogger. I thought it would. So here is a copy and paste! I won't be using the bloglovin' posting.

I'm testing out the new bloglovin' posting system so here's some text and some Pokemon makeup looks I've done in the past!

These are the "daily wear" version. I've not done SFX or at makeup before so though I have ideas, I've not done any yet!

Charmander!

It appears that I can only add one photo at a time despite being allowed to choose multiple. Also the keyboard keeps disappearing as I try to type and edit. Not loving this update!

Pidgeot

Also I don't see a way to add a cut to the post!

Second attempt at Meowth. Don't like it much to be honest.
OK this mobile posting is really glitchy so I won't post the rest. Check out my non-lolita instagram @white_bones to see the rest (plus a ton of random other looks) or the tag #神奇寶貝妝
Hope this posting method gets better! For now I'll stick to blogger.com on my computer...
What's your favorite Pokemon color scheme ? Not necessarily the Pokemon but how its colors work together. My immediate thoughts are Milotic and Xerneas! Beautiful colors

Sales Purchases and Sushi Time

There is an ongoing sale at a local building basement with tons of Sanrio and Disney licensed goods as well as children's toys! I went yesterday with Kamiko "just to have a look around." ^u^v  Well, you can guess how well that went??  I honestly think I did a really good job of not buying too much! While it was tempting to buy and resell some items, I did not do that either.

See if you can spot my purchases in this before/after (not counting my jacket - it became cold at night!)
Outfit Rundown:
Top: Little Dipper
KC, JSK: BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT
Petti (it's really a skirt): Classical Puppets
Bag: Swimmer Japan
Socks: Secret Shop
Casual and easy outfit for the day. I like this type of JSK with a full-elastic back as it is comfortable and easy to wear all day.  Special Sets and Happy Packs tend to have this design in order to cater to a wider variety of sizes.

 The sale items ranged from 10%-70% off!  Photography was forbidden inside. Not that it was very photogenic - everything was in stacks, mostly unorganized, so it took a LOT of digging to find items. Also, oftentimes the same item would have different prices, as if the staff just stuck the prices on randomly. Sometimes one item would vary by as much as NT$200 (US$6.66)!! That's over an hour and a half of minimum wage work @_@;

I found a clip-on Pikachu accessory for $199, down from $650 (US$21.66) and bought it! I'd seen it previously at other shops, but it was too expensive at the time. I felt lucky to find it, as it was the only one and was actually misplaced among some other toys rather than with the Pokemon items.
My companion
And I'm sure you've noticed the other item I bought, the Hello Kitty bag! I'd been looking for a bag about the size of my Swimmer Japan bag, but in black to go with Gothic styles.

Hello Kitty Go Around

Happy Year of the Rooster! In case you missed the news, Jan. 28, 2017 was the first day of the Year of the Rooster! People have been on vacation, which means everywhere is crowded @_@ However Feb. 2 was the first day of work and luckily, one of my Lolita friends had that extra day off, so we could go to the Hello Kitty Go Around exhibit together!

I went with a very casual outfit because I haven't worn Lolita in a while. Maybe I will begin posting the other looks I wear here sometimes ^0^ There are so many fun fashions to try! Since Lolita is much more of a daily look for me, I don't even always take a photo of my outfit. Most posted photos of Lolitas online seem to be especially dressed up, but I really like seeing daily, practical Lolita outfits *u*  So I supposed this is also my contribution to the pool of "realistic daily outfits" ??
Outfit Rundown:
Blouse: Little Dipper (taobao)
JSK, underskirt, corset: Handmade by me
Bag: Swimmer Japan

Though the space was only average size, the setup was REALLY awesome! It felt like a much larger space and there were so many "scenes" to take photos at! In other words, this post will be very photo-heavy ^_~
