Recent Looks and LOTS of Food!

I haven't taken many outfit snaps as I feel like they are rather repetitive O_Q  I haven't purchased any new Lolita dresses since 2018, and even swapping different blouses and accessories is starting to get repetitive!

Still, I enjoy wearing Lolita and going out with friends, so have some snaps of food, food-scented sheet masks, and other daily happenings!

Recently there was some limited time Beard Papa cream puff!  It's Oreo cream filling with mini Oreos on top!  Beard Papa is rather pricey, but as a rare treat, it's really good!

You can see the paper saying "Limited Time Offer" ๐Ÿ˜น

I also went to Sushiro with a friend again~  It's delicious!

And went to a "raw pasta" pasta shop called Flagๅช่ฆ‹ ่ฅฟ้–€ ็”ŸPasta, where they use fresh pasta that is never dried!  I.... honestly can't tell the difference ๐Ÿ˜ฟ I'm too pleb!!!  But the soft shell crab was so good!!  I massively enjoyed this shop. It doesn't have much seating, and only one employee for the whole place, but it's great!

Not quite food... but food-scented?  Recently Watson's Taiwan got exclusive Taiwanese-food-scented sheet masks!  I bought four of the five scents to gift to my little sister, and picked up an extra Beef Noodles Soup for myself.  I have yet to try, as I don't actually eat beef, I'm not sure if the smell will be overpowering....  I gave a couple to some guinea pigs friends and one told me it's quite nice of a sheet mask, and actually smells accurate to beef noodle soup, not sickeningly fake.  So... I shall try... eventually...

Then my friend took me for baby's first ceviche!  It's like a very refreshing seafood salad/salsa thing?  SO delicious! He went and bought crackers to eat with the ceviche as boss only had cheese Doritos ๐Ÿ˜น and apparently that's not how they do it in Latin America usually.  I do recommend ceviche to those who eat seafood!  It doesn't taste fishy (or shrimpy, as this one had both) and is suitable for warm weather.

Plain crackers are supposed to be the best match for scooping!

Last week I went for Indian food with some friends.  I got the same as last time: spinach paneer.  I just cannot resist paneer! The medium spicy is really quite spicy (the chefs are Indian) for Taiwan!  So it's good I didn't go for big spicy!  Unfortunately I ate it on an empty stomach, so then I got a bit of a tummyache and we got ice cream at McDonald's afterward.

McDonald's upped their prices!!  ๐Ÿ˜พ Fast food is becoming too expensive!

Then this past weekend my friend from Singapore came to visit as he had a shoot in Taichung (he's a stunt actor) and we went to this relatively newly opened Japanese restaurant that turned out to be quite delicious~
This set meal is NT$400!

Taiwan Teddy got a pal in these photos as my friend plays Deacon in the Universal Studio Singapore Waterworld shows, so he has a Deacon plush!

We also got two of the sashimi plates, which were more pricey, but were delicious and worth it!

Fav here was the shrimp and the fatty salmon in the back!  Scallops also good.

This platter had swordfish, which was really good!  Bonito was ok, and the rest were also delicious.

While eating, we heard what we thought was a club or party nearby, but when we went out, found it was a temple event on the street!

The procession lasted the entire length of the long street!

I don't know anything about temples or religious holidays or festivals (my mom is Christian so we never learned any of this) but I believe they are shifting gods to another temple?  The actors on the boats were eating snacks and hydrating during this break/red light ๐Ÿ˜บ

Very clear case of "modern meets traditional" which is common in Taiwan!

We grabbed some snowflake ice for dessert!  I really love snowflake ice as my favorite shaved ice dessert.  The snowflake ice has a creamy texture as it melts, and matches whatever topping you choose well!

I also found the last flavor of Taiwanese-food-scented sheet masks at a Watsons in the area, so I bought it to complete the collection for my little sister.  The only "strange" ones are the beef noodle soup and the medicinal pork ribs one.  The other three flavors I think should be quite acceptable to most people: aiyu (a type of lemon jelly dessert), almond tofu (fragrant almond scent), and bubble milk tea.

My friend also bought this Cardcaptor Sakura Dream Wand pen for me!!!  We saw it at a shop and I was debating between it and a 50cm model Star Wand (not a pen) and he bought the Dream Wand pen!!  I feel so grateful, lucky, and blessed.
I swear my eye bags and shadows don't look this bad until I take a photo.. then I question why I left the house at all!

I love having items that are both cute and functional.  Daily use items should make us happy too, specifically because we'll be using them so frequently!  Not that I'm writing much physically any more.... but it's the thought that counts!!!

On Saturday I met up with friends and then went to a night market~  There's a little shop that isn't quite in a building per se, but they've put up some "walls" and "windows" that sort of make it feel indoors? It's been there since I moved to Taiwan in 2010 and has changed bit by bit, so it was nice to visit again!

Macchiato!  It's espresso with milk foam on top. Tiny and strong!  Mixing the foam in makes it smooth.

Their menu also changes completely from time to time. This time I got a Moroccan quesadilla (????) with chickpeas and salsa and it was SO delicious!
Fragrant and spiced well!

Then I got greedy and wanted a dessert!  So went for the classic chocolate cannoli and really enjoyed it!  I think the first cannoli I ever had was back in 2022 in Los Angeles.  This single cannoli cost NT$160 so it's a bit expensive, but tasted nice!  The chocolate matches well~

Then today I just got home from meeting a couple friends for Chicago style deep-dish pizza. I have to say it's not as nice as the one from the other restaurant where I had deep dish for the first time, but that restaurant has since closed down, unfortunately.
The edges of the crust are all burnt ๐Ÿ˜ฟ

You have to order deep dish 4 hours ahead of time so they can prepare!  Luckily my friend had called ahead before jio (invite) me ๐Ÿ‘
The filling is all nice, but the crust portion was too tall and burnt for my taste

We also got some onion rings! They were all right as well.

The weather has been getting cooler, so I wore a sweatshirt today.  I really like this sweatshirt ๐Ÿ˜ป
Sweatshirt: Lister Flavor
Skirt: Putumayo
Shoes: Sheep Puff (taobao)

It's been quite some time since I wore these hair clips! I made them back in university!

Hope you enjoyed the photo dump!  I always feel like I don't have enough going on to warrant a post, and then it builds up and turns into a photo dump ๐Ÿ™€  Maybe it'd be better to do more regular, smaller posts?

What have you been up to recently?  And would you prefer smaller posts, or mega dumps?  Thanks for reading and commenting!
