Cyber Lolita for Taiwan Tea Afternoon Tea!

 Got to wear my Metamorphose Neon Cyber Girl skirt and harness set for the first time this weekend!  The makeup took FAR longer than I expected 😹 All those YouTube tutorials make it look quick and easy!!!

I am happy with how the liner turned out at least~

Baby's First Gyaru Attempt: Himekaji

 A TikTok viewer had requested a gyaru look, and I have a LizLisa dress that was gifted by my coven waifu, so I figured, why not?  I like Himekaji style after all!

For the makeup, I just directly followed a tutorial by @usatanipaisen1215  in Instagram! She's an inspirational gyaru, and I think she's an official gyaru ambassador or something?  Not sure, but she had a two-part reel that showed basic gyaru makeup, so I followed it to the best of my ability!

 Unfortunately I forgot a full outfit photo 😿 I was a bit tired after getting back from the hospital with my mom, so I just took off my hair/makeup without thinking!

T-shirt Surgery

I forgot I had this post sitting in my drafts!
Before I started doing hair/makeup GRWM on TikTok, I did some T-shirt surgery to kill time.  I was flagged three times for being "too revealing" for the three days I did it.  Who knew showing a picture of somebody's back was scandalous?  Or that a dressmaker's mannequin was risque?

TikTok AI is so stupid. Anyway, I ended up being pretty happy with most of the surgeries I did!

Before

The first shirt I did, I only cut the back.  I probably could have cut more strips up higher, but it is still ok to me!  It's pretty simple no-sew style; double laddering and then tied into ribbons in the center.

Cyber Neon Girl Get!

 I made my first online Metamorphose order!  I've been eyeing the Cyber Neon Girl collection ever since it was previewed last year, but it was unfortunately not ready for sale when I visited Tokyo in November.

Since I haven't had any proper work since November, I originally wasn't going to get this, but then I didn't spend all the yen in my account on my trip.  I'd been saving up for a year and a half for that trip, buying JPY when the exchange rate was good, so.... if I had leftover yen, it was basically free, right? (Girl math!)

I was torn between the pink and the multicolor colorways for ages, and ended up getting the multicolor because it had a more cyber feel.  The harness was sold separately from the skirt, sadly, as was the red underskirt!  I ended up buying the harness and skirt (I'm not a fan of the exposed zipper on the jumperskirt or I would have gotten that instead!) but forgot the hair ribbon!  Luckily my friend also was ordering a JSK so she said she could get the hair ribbon for me and next time we meet she could pass it to me!  No idea when we'll next meet up as she's in the USA and I'm in Taiwan, but I can wait!

I made a little unboxing video.  They included some DMs and a thank-you note!

I'm still waiting on my shoes to arrive.  I ordered black shoes and red shoes, so both should go with this coordinate well!  I think a black blouse would be the easiest choice of top, but I'll see what I can come up with~  I do love Cyber aesthetics, so I love that Meta did a Cyber Lolita collection!

The harness doesn't have clips at the waist. I thought they could clip to the skirt, but it's really just hanging there.  The ribbons are removable, so I can use them elsewhere in the coordinate too.

I think the harness will work easily with other black clothing as an accent piece!

This is the most unique print in my collection now, so I'm excited to see how I can coordinate it in different ways!

What is your favorite style crossover?  Cyber Lolita is extremely difficult to get right, but I think Meta did a great job!  Fan designs I'd seen back in the 2000s tended to look simply Cyber Goth without enough Lolita elements and elegance.  Other crossover styles I enjoy include Hime Gyaru x Lolita, Fantasy x Goth (so more earthy tones, not just fairies/elves in black), and Cyber x Fantasy (magic and sci-fi at the same time!)

Hanfu Lolita for Busy Wednesday

I had a busy day on Wednesday!  Maid cafe, cat cafe, and chilling with friends in the evening!

Since the maid cafe had a Chinese theme for the week, I finally got a chance to wear my new Chinese-themed Lolita dress! I should have gotten an M instead of an L so I used a couple safety pins to keep it on better.

It was so hot!!  I guess the long sleeves protect me from the sun at least? 😹 The tights were also a bit thicker than I expected.  The print is pretty nice and subtly Chinese-themed.

What is this Style?

 Finally got the innerwear and put together a new outfit!  I didn't notice my phone was zoomed in too far so I cut of my head a bit 🙀but you can still see the outfit!

Chinese Style Lolita at Maid Cafe

 This week Kokorolia, the maid cafe I like to go to, has a Chinese theme event!  So all the maids are wearing Chinese theme clothing!  From qipao-inspired fluffy dresses to modernized hanfu, so of course I had to go!

And I had to wear my own Chinese-themed Lolita dress!

Hair clips: Tila Bunny Sweety (local artist)
Scrunchies: taobao
JSK: made by me
Shoes: Sheep Puff (taobao)

Birthday Outfit

May 30th was my birthday and I went out for a meal with my mom!  I chose an outfit that made me feel pretty and was comfortable.
The blouse has a collar with Alice-themed embroidery on it.  Normally I wear some casual chiffon cropped blouse with no collar, but I do really love the look of a proper Peter Pan collar!

The dress is also a longer length, which I really like. It's still just knee-length on me because I am around 169cm.  The chiffon ruffles are low-maintenance and move nicely!

Wa Lolita for Virtual Tea Party

Today I had another virtual tea party with the waifus!  I decided to wear my Wa lolita dress that I bought from Metamorphose in Tokyo as it is comfortable (fully-shirred back) and has lots of interesting things right on the front, which is what the camera mostly picks up anyway.  In the end, the waist ribbon didn't even show on the screen call, but if your camera setup is different, having something interesting on the front is a good thing!

Originally I wasn't going to wear makeup, but then... I just really wanted to!!

I did a simple look today.  Like last time, I used no foundation because my Chromebook camera isn't good enough to pick up skin unevenness~ I'm only wearing a purple-tinted sunscreen (though in future, I may look into a green-tinted one for the rosacea/redness instead)

My hair is curled with the heatless curling method again.  Since I cut the face-framing layers, I've been experimenting with different hair styles to try and come up with some simple go-to looks.  This time, I did half-up twintails at a lower height for a more mature-kawaii look.  Very high twintails are extra youthful and childish, but sometimes it can feel a little much ^^;   If you feel like you are outgrowing the childish look, or if you fear looking like an auntie trying too hard to hold onto teenage years, a slightly lower height may be a good balance!

My sweets for today were a matcha cream puff (SO good!!) and a chocolate Boston cream pie.  I have never had an "authentic" Boston cream pie so I am not sure if this is an accurate one  but the cream seemed a bit much for me.  The matcha cream puff was filled with matcha cream and the matcha chocolate shell paired well with the plain pastry and sweet filling.  It may have been a touch too sweet for me, but with the red tea I had, it toned down the sweetness enough.

Overall it was a lovely way to spend the day with my best friends!  It felt good to put a full Lolita outfit on as well!

Hope to have some hairstyles put together for a future collection.  Partially, I want to have a post that I can refer back to myself for when I am out of ideas for what to do for easy hairstyles, but I hope it is helpful to others as well!

Thank you for reading, and I hope you have been finding little ways to stay in touch with people you care about as well as taking care of yourself!

Soft Cyber Kawaii

Recently received a new Cyberdog item and decided to try for a soft take on Cyberkei makeup!  I was sort of making it up as I went, but I think it turned out all right?

I used my bhcosmetics Trendy in Tokyo palette (review) for the purple base in Sake and to sketch out the pink part in Emoji shadow.  The lower lashline shadow is also Sake with Kyoto layered over it in the outer corner (the shimmers help Kyoto blend out smoothly)

The neon pink liner is actually Medusa's Makeup neon pigment powder mixed with eyedrops!  The consistency turned out really smooth and I was able to paint the line fairly easily.  Originally I only did the tail and then the inner corner (the parts that are visible when my eyes are open) but I ended up connecting them in my lid fold so that it'd create a floating liner when I close my eyes.

I rather like the way it looks with only the inner and outer corners visible though :3  Then I use a baked highlighter by AOA Studio for the center and inner corner highlights, and did the wing and lower liner with NYX epic ink liner.  I didn't do a good job of connecting the inner corner though, and my left hand shook when I did my left eye, so I had to fix a blob of liner by layering white eyeliner and then highlighter on top

With the leftover neon pigment, I colored the inner of my eyebrows, but I think that makes the overall look a little to over the top XD so I may go for plain brows or powder color next time!!

I tried on two different lipsticks, and I think the black is more bold, and the pink more cute!  Not that anybody is going to see them anyway because I wear mask when I go out, just like everybody else haha!

Usually I do rather over the top looks for Cyberkei with massive lashes and jewels/ribbons/drawing on my face, so I like this more subtle take on Cyberkei!  Pretty sure this mascara is on its way out though...

Thanks for hanging out with me!  I'm excited to do more things with the neon pigments I have.  I'd previously tried using them as shadows, but they require other shadows to blend at all, so I think using them mixed with liquid may be the best bet for me!

My Assistant Natto and Some Blog Stuff

Punk Gothic outfit shot from a couple days ago was aided by my kitty Natto.  I have been trying to wear real clothes every day instead of just lounging in pajamas as I work remotely.

Sadly, Natto's condition (he has heart problems and a heart murmur) seems to be deteriorating.  He's only 7 years old, approximately (he's a rescue) so I hope he can live much longer!  He's been having bouts of drooling and panting, indicating fluid in his chest.  It's only lasting a few seconds each time, but has increased in frequency.  I'm so scared to think about him not being here to nuzzle and cuddle me and follow me around, asking for attention and belly rubs frequently.

Outfit details on my Instagram
I also tried a new way of making odango hair to make it more fluffy and less ballerina-sleek as I am used to (was a requirement in dance class.)
Bonus raw picture
Looks like King Boo is licking my face ^^
 On another note, I have not been posting the type of content I originally planned to post on this blog.  In addition to lifestyle posts, I want to do more tutorials and news like I used to.  Though Lolita news is now rather unnecessary as there are so many places to read about it and brands have their own blogs and social media, I'd like to do some of the hair tutorials I had been planning.

Being that I have dark hair it is a bit difficult to photograph, but I will try it out.

Another idea I'd (sort of) started was beauty product reviews, such as makeup, skincare, etc.  Though I tend to use things for absolute ages before coming to a final conclusion, so I'm not sure anything would be relevant and many skincare and makeup items are reformulated, discontinued, limited edition, etc.  Would this be of interest?
Natto LOVES attention

If I am able to find employment and stay in the USA, I will set up the sewing machine and start with sewing tutorials as well.  That was actually the original reason I even started a blog!

Thanks for reading and commenting!  Please do let me know what type of things you'd like to see more of!  Hopefully future content will be more informative in addition to the regular lifestyle posts!

Sweet and Dark

Halfway through February already!  I've been rather low energy but try to pick myself up by changing out of my "lazy" clothing and doing a bit of makeup.

Changing how you look can really affect how you feel, even if you do something low-effort.  For Valentine's Day I had been hoping to do something elaborate and fun in terms of my outfit, but was 1) extremely hungover from a night of gin and soju (unplanned!) with my friends after hotpot, and 2) feeling rather stressed out about my financial situation.

I can up with the below look, which is a bit of an attempt at "Natural" makeup:

Primer: Milani
Eyeshadow: bh cosmetics Solar Flare palette
Lipstick: bh cosmetics Liplock lipstick
Blusher: Day Cover cream blush
Eyebrows: Sweets Tokyo pencil; essence cosmetics Make Me Brow
Concealer: Maybelline mineral concealer
Mascara: CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof

Then just a couple days ago I felt like doing a full look (still no foundation... I really cannot be bothered a lot of the time) even though I was just going out for pho with my boyfriend and ImaginaryDuke and then helping another friend deliriousb clean up after a party (that I had skipped... haha!)

I went for a full spooky look using some loose eyeshadow from indie brand Apocalyptic Beauty! It really makes a big different to use NYX Glitter Glue with the shimmer colors.
Primer: Milani, NYX Glitter Glue
Eyeshadow: Apocalyptic Beauty
Eyebrow: essence pencil and Make Me Brow
Lips: NYX Liquid Suede
Highlight: AOA Studio baked highlight
Eyeliner: Milani (sucks...)
Mascara: CoverGirl Clump Crusher Waterproof

I really liked my outfit too!  I'd originally thought the garter I had wouldn't be practical to wear out, but it turned out to be really comfortable!
Featuring Natto kitty!!
Natto kept trying to jump up on me while I was trying to take an outfit photo ^^;

It's a bit hard to tell, but my hair is wavy for this look, too.  Now that my hair is much shorter, the waves from braids stay much longer!!  It's so fun to have short-medium hair!

How do you get yourself some energy when you feel mentally lethargic?  I'd like tips from other people on how they get themselves to use opposite action (doing the opposite of what your bad mentality or emotion wants you to do)!!

Quick and Easy Pink Lolita in Winter Wonderland

Yesterday I went on an impromptu date with my boyfriend so I threw together a coord in about 20 minutes. Not the best photo (he tried) but hopefully it shows the outfit well!
KC, JSK, coat, socks: BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT
Blouse: Little Dipper (taobao)
Bag: Swimmer Japan
Petticoat: Fantasyland (taobao)
Boots: Target
I only wore some mascara and lipstick for the outing, as well as curling my lashes. A bit off topic, but does anybody else feel more awake after curling their lashes???? Maybe it's because my lashes grow straight and downward, but whenever I curl them I feel like I feel more awake, even without mascara.

Whenever I need a quick outfit, I go for a JSK because it takes care of the top and bottom in one go. Then I choose a comfortable blouse, usually chiffon, because that can change up the look. I've worn this JSK with white, pink, and mint blouses to change up the look. Even with minimal accessories, the outfit is very Lolita. I chose not to wear a necklace because this JSK has a large chest ribbon as well as bodice lacing, though to dress it up, I would wear a choker.

An OP would also be really nice for a quick outfit, though there are fewer options to change the look... which is why I left my OPs in Taiwan, to be honest.

Special set JSKs seem to be really good for a quick and casual outfit because the JSK comes with a matching KC so you don't need to worry about the hairstyle either!

I'm also thinking of doing more hair looks on my blog. There's a list of simple and casual kawaii looks I've got, but I just need to get around to doing and photographing them! Taking hair photos with dark hair is really difficult...

Thank you for reading! What are your favorite tips for quick Lolita outfits?

Sinderella's Twisted Ball

Hello from Washington state! I'm here visiting my sister for Christmas, but now I've got time to post about a fun Goth event I attended on Friday, Sinderella's Twisted Ball at Ground Zero Nightclub hosted by The Forbidden Bazaar

I got together with my friend (and ex brother-in-law) Tai to attend! The theme was "dark Disney" so I went as Gothic Belle. Unfortunately, on my way out the door, I grabbed the wrong shoes.... T^T

Choker: OS Accessories
JSK: h.naoto
Difficult to get a proper photo T^T The bag is a book because Belle loves reading! I also forgot a petticoat in my rush... so basically this is a really bad outfyt T^T

I also tried to do a version of Belle's ballgown hair with a bun, and made it rose-shaped instead of a pouf.

Honestly it was probably completely invisible in the dark club because I have dark hair, but I enjoyed it!

The performers were very cool! I took a few photos and video of some of the acts. I did not take any of the SM spankings/whippings because I'm not sure if that was allowed ^^;

Ambiance~

Fire dance

Silks

Jafar does fire wheel

I definitely played Pokemon GO at the club

Decorated like this all the time!
There were loads of fun costumes! I saw a Beast and even a Yzma! I was too shy to ask for photos, but the instagram or facebook pages may have costumes from others ^_~

I got a lot of dancing in and enjoyed all the acrobatics and fire shows!

Also, MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thank you so much for reading and commenting~

What is your favorite thing about Christmas or any other Yuletime holidays? What do you celebrate, if anything? My sister went all-out on gifts. I might do a post, but really I feel like a braggart if I post about gifts ^^; I did take funny videos of her dog, though!

Some Good News and Some Bad News

Life has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs recently!
-Sister got a job, moving to Seattle (yay!)
-Need new housemate because I cannot afford the rent alone (boo!)
-Friend found a friend who needed a place too (yay!)
-Other housemate is moving at the end of the lease, so we need another housemate (boo!)
-Got appointment with work center on Wednesday (yay!)
-New housemate will not move in if another housemate is not found (boo!)

So I may or may not need to move somewhere, which then also affects where I can work @_@;;
Basically putting all my thoughts on hold until Wednesday when I can check with the work center to see what type of jobs I qualify for and whether it will be enough for me to afford rent so we can rent the house with just two of us.

In other news, check this outfit I put together with clothes my sister bought for me from Gen Con!
T-shirt, Leggings: Savage Sparrow (gift from my sister!)
Skirt: WEGO
Bag, Shoes: Swimmer Japan
The leggings have a print of Magikarp and shiny Gyarados on them!  And the T-shirt is ultra cute:

Things aren't going great but at least I look cute with Pokemon gear ^^;  Keep thinking positive!!

Who's your favorite shiny Pokemon?  Mine is probably Ponyta!!  Blue fire is good fire :3  Also I just like Ponyta~

A Little Sweet, A Little Spooky

Have you ever scrolled through your own photo albums or Instagram feed and just felt like you pose the same way all the time?  I know I have just a couple go-to poses for outfit shots, so recently I tried out different poses and learned that SO many of these "casual" poses are difficult to angle/hold correctly if you are taking the photos yourself.

FYI this post is just going to be random talking ^u^v

I like candid shots like when I was playing with Natto (it also shows my makeup look haha) but it's difficult to show an outfit like that~

Normally I take outfit shots standing up, but trying to show more close-up pictures in a square image for Instagram is more complicated...
Am I effortlessly chic yet?
However, it was really sort of fun to try and copy a bunch of poses found online!  I really feel like certain outfits fit certain poses better.  If you find yourself going back to the same few stances in pictures, maybe try copying some models who use poses you'd not have thought about doing before~
Rejects
That reminds me... didn't I start a "posing" series like seven years ago on this blog?  Originally it was going to be face-specific gestures and some Lolita-friendly poses, but I think I gave up on it because it just wasn't very interesting ^^;

Other random images!!

Taking myself out on a date makeup:
I am awful at "natural" makeup so I'm wearing zero eyeshadow here ^^;  Just mascara and face makeup!
 Hanging out with the cat makeup:
Natto is acting like a tough guy but he's a big softie
 Colorful days!!!
I LOVE these hair accessories!
 And one final spooky one:
Jewelry love
I really love original googly eyes *u*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
OK I really haven't had anything interesting to talk about.  Still looking for work, getting medical help, and hanging out with friends when there is time.
How is your summer going?
I still haven't gone to any Lolita-specific events here, but it seems like it's mostly just small meets anyway and usually not anywhere I can easily get to.  Been taking myself out on Loli-dates when I can!
Recently I will likely just blog to share interesting things like artists and maybe indie brands.
All makeup details on my Instagram accounts @_sparklewolfie_ and @white_bones if you are curious! Or you could ask in the comments if you don't like or use Instagram :P
Recent Days
Recent outfits!  I haven't been doing much other than looking for work and hanging out with friends to be honest.  I've met some new friends, gotten shots and fingerprints for job stuff, applied to so many other jobs @_@;;  I forgot how annoying it is to look for work...
It was also my birthday on the 30th and my sister and friends threw me a surprise party!  It was nice and we played some board and card games and had cake!
Hopefully something more interesting is to come~
Chinese Lolita Meetup! Qi/Han Lolita Style
Yesterday was our belated August Lolita Meetup with the theme of "Chinese Lolita"! Inspired by qipao or hanfu, we met two new friends and had a lot of fun!
Hair, JSK: handmade by me
Petticoat: Fantasyland (on taobao)
 We went to traditional-theme restaurant and got our own room inside!  The restaurant is actually located within a night market that is close to where I live now, so I walked there ^u^v
Chinese Style Hair Tutorial
In preparation for this month's Lolita meetup, I've been doing a bit of history and also just watching historic cosplayers' tutorials.  Many hairstyles require false hair bits (I've used those before in my dance troupe for performances) but I found one that could work for Lolita fashion.  I've worn my hair is similar ways before, but this time I loop the tail end of the twintails back to be more historically accurate (and cute!).  I braided my hair as it the texture holds the shape better, but the historic cosplayer I saw did the hairstyle without braiding it, so mine is a modern take.
You can't even see the buns because my hair accessories are so large
I also made video tutorials for this style!  There are two ways to do it depending on how long your hair is ^u^  Currently my hair is only medium-long so I do it the "cheating" way
