Game Comic Toy Convention!

This is the follow-up post to the previous one about the convention!

First Small Idol Concert!

On Monday I went to a triple-convention (games, comics, toys) and happened upon some local idol group performances!  Originally we just headed over to some stage because it was loud (as in, the idol otaku were insanely loud!  Cheering with all their energy) and we were curious.

While watching a bit of whatever group was performing, Exo looked up the schedule on his phone and pointed out that the idol group of my favorite maid Lena from Kokorolia Maid Cafe would be performing later!  I decided I'd come back to catch her performance despite having zero interest in idol groups 😹

Our group went for lunch nearby and then parted ways.  I was the only one to go back to the convention (which I shall post about separately) but I got lost trying to find the stage area again!

Being a bit late, I was not able to get close to the stage.  The space was very small and there were not many people, but I was still far back enough that all my videos are just of the back of people's heads 😿

I also don't know if the video upload works on this site well... so good luck to me and you

Pokemon GO at Daan Forest Park

I've fallen behind on blogs again!  On March 28 there was the first day of a Pokemon GO event at a local park, 大安森林公園/Daan Forest Park, so I went there with a couple acquaintances.

Taipei Game Show 2026 + Monster Hunter Wilds Taiwan Championship

On the 31st I got up bright and early to meet my teammate Exo for the Monster Hunter Wilds Taiwan Championship!  I'll be honest - the organizers were not very well-organized and we received information bit by bit rather than all at once.  We didn't even know we had to check-in between 8-10AM until a few days before the event.

In addition, they doxxed our emails to the whole email list by using CC instead of BCC when sending out the initial notification.  This also led to multiple people responding to the incorrect person when confirming their participation.

I did call the organizers to express displeasure at the doxxing, and they sent an email claiming there'd been a "problem with BCC" which sounds like a lie to me, to be honest.  If the email system was down, they would not have been able to send the email in the first place.  If regular emailing was available but BCC was not, they should have sent each email individually rather than doxxing everybody's emails (and legal names, if they had their real name on their profile. Fortunately I used my creator email so mine only said "Sparklewolfie")

Despite that fiasco, the day of the event went pretty smoothly.  We checked it around 9:30 and got a pass to go to 5F to queue for our group number.

Tokyo Kimono Show in Taipei

Yesterday I went to the Tokyo Kimono Show here in Taipei! I wore my Meta wa-lolita dress and paired it with the blouse from my han-lolita dress.  It's got flared sleeves and is also blue and cream, so I thought it'd match with the JSK ok!

TRPG + LARP Market Event

On Sunday I went to a weekend pop-up market event that focused on Tabletop Role-Playing Games and Live-Action Role-Playing.  Though I have never done LARPing before, one of the local lolitas I follow on Instagram goes regularly and it looks interesting!

Plus, my friend's brand Little Rose Planet was going to be vending there so I went to check it out~

The makeup didn't photograph well, unfortunately

I was still sniffly so I didn't even bother with base makeup as it'd get wiped off around my nose.

Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary Exhibition

On Saturday I went to the Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary exhibition with some Twitch friends!!

It was cool! We had tickets for 2pm and got in line then. They let us in in small batches at the beginning to avoid crowding, I assume.

My First Brand Tea Party: Little Rose Planet ft. Cathy Cat

It's been a busy several days for me, so I'm a bit behind on posts! Going out every day can really take a toll.

On Saturday I went to my first brand-hosted tea party by Taiwanese Lolita brand Little Rose Planet! I've known the owner Mei for so long I can't remember when we met any more 😹 One of the girls actually asked me that question at the tea party, which is why I started thinking about it, and realized I have no idea!  She's lovely and often collaborates with talented artist Zihlinghuang for prints!

I saw the Little Rose Planet instagram post about the tea party and signed up and paid right away!  There were no new product launches or products to buy at the tea party as most brand events have, but I wanted to support anyway!

The location also got changed as the original restaurant didn't want to reserve for such a large group 😾without a down payment. Luckily, the alternate restaurant chosen was one I'd had saved on my Google Maps for a while, so I'm really glad we went there!

They also had a special guest Cathy Cat from Japan (iirc, she said she's German, studied in UK, then moved to Japan) and it was lovely to meet and chat with her too!

Taipei Game Show 2025

Yesterday I went to the Taipei Game Show!!  whirow from Singapore came to TW for the event so we met up~  I also got to meet itsneyrin for the first time in person!

Hiro and I arrived first and we tried to catch the Monster Hunter Wilds livestream on stage, but the location was so large we got lost and made it to the stage right after the stream ended 😿

We did pass a Monster Hunter partbreak challenge mini booth, but when we met up with everybody else and went back to try, it had already ended!! So ended up with no Monster Hunter chance as the Wilds beta demos were already booked fully.

We did see two Monster Hunter cosplayers though!

Comic + Games Expo

Yesterday I went to a dual-exhibition with my friend Doro!  The comic exhibition was combine with the gamers exhibition, meaning it was extremely PACKED at the world trade center!

Doro and I decided on a red Alice theme for our outfits, so here I am in my BABY x Disney Alice in Wonderland JSK~

Isn't the mascot cute?

I asked Doro about this exhibit rather last minute. I found out about it on its first day opening, Thursday, and we went on Sunday.  I was going solely for the chance to buy Cardcaptor Sakura goods!

Recent Exhibit Visits: Demon Slayer and Pokemon TCG

I'm a bit backlogged on posts now!  In February I went to see the Demon Slayer pop-up cafe and Pokemon Trading Card Game 25th Year Exhibit with my friend Doro.  We decided to do a casual twinning with the same print from Innocent World print, Japanese Butterfly (plain JSK for me)!  I love this dress very much for some casual days.

It had been raining for weeks but it was fortunately not raining the morning of our outing.

Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibit Second Edition

Finally Part 2 of the Cardcaptor Sakura Exhibit could open!!!  Find the first opening in two parts here and here for more photos of the interiors from the first visit.  The main part that changed was the art prints, which cannot be photographed.  I did also make a new wig for my teddy bear so I got new photos of her as well!

After the pandemic breakout and lockdown, we were unsure if the exhibit would even re-open.  They were offering refunds for tickets, but it would require you to turn in the ticket holder and Thank You card if you had it.  That did not seem worth it to Doro or me, so we chose to hold onto our gifts and just hope the exhibit would open again!!  Luckily, it did, so I booked a time slot quickly!  There were very few people there and masks are required as usual.

Art Exhibit of Cardcaptor Sakura Pt. 2

Are you ready for another photo-heavy post about Cardcaptor Sakura exhibit?

Last post ended on the Siege room, which was probably my favorite!  The room after was Maze and was full of art reproductions of the original illustrations that CLAMP did, but we were not allowed to do any sort of photography, videography, or recording in there.

After the Maze came the Record room!  They had some of the manga as well as some magazines with the magazine gifts displayed.  I forgot to take a photo of that part, unfortunately, but I think it will still be there for the second exhibit so I will do my best to remember to take photos then!

Art Exhibit of Cardcaptor Sakura Pt. 1

Picture-heavy post!  Cardcaptor Sakura is my favorite magical girl anime!  I love the art style of CLAMP, and I really enjoy the fact that Sakura's costumes are designed by Tomoyo (and they imply she makes them, but she's in the 4th grade in the original series so maybe she just has somebody else make them??) instead of created by magic.

Of course I had to go to the exhibit when it came to Taipei!  They had a fun "backstory" to the entire exhibit as well~

The Card Room at the end

Due to COVID restrictions, we had made reservations for our time slot online, and we are released into the exhibit according to reservations.  This also means that there were not many people inside at any one time, which made taking photos so much easier!

Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card x animate cafe

Cardcaptor Sakura has collaborated with animate cafe again!  This time with the most recent Clear Card arc!  Previously I went to the Cardcaptor Sakura cafe collab back in 2016, but this year the drinks were more interesting because you can get pictures printed on them!

Taiwan Teddy cosplayed again

This time I attended with Doro!  Another good part is that the coasters this time were plastic (fitting for Clear Card) so I'm actually reusing my coaster instead of hoarding it as I do with the paper ones most places will give for events!

There were also non-print beverages, but they are not as special as the drinks from the previous Cardcaptor collaboration in my opinion.

The pictures at the bottom are the 9 coasters available at random, one with each drink.

Doro and I both got the NT$170 printed drink.  She got Yue printed on milk tea and I got Kero-chan and Subi (sp?) printed on matcha with lychee popping bubbles.  I really do not recommend adding fruity popping bubbles with matcha.....  But the whipped cream was very solid and good!

Look at how clear the pictures are! And the colors are so vibrant!

It really is a drink!  Topped with whipped cream!

The decor was so nice too.  There were not as many standing cutouts to take pictures with, but the two main walls were nice.
And of course there were the photo stick pictures to use!!

I brought Taiwan Teddy in her Cardcaptor Sakura cosplay, and Doro brought a Kerochan plush

As for coasters, I got Tomoyo-chan and Doro got the Kerochan and Subi that I had printed on my drink!  Since she did not want to collect them on coasters, she gave her coaster to me!!!  Super excited!

We were able to get a table space and after the other people there left, we could even clear the table to take photos while the shop staff was sanitizing!

I didn't buy any collaboration goods this time, but we might go again and I'm eyeing the card stand as my current stand is a gacha Gengar which is a little too small and light so it easily falls over.  I use the stands to hold my receipts, so it's useful!!  Not just spending money!!!

Goods available for purchase

The "cafe" is actually just set up in a hotel lobby, so there is only standing space.  That does make it easy to ensure nobody lingers too long, I suppose?

I love the art style of this wall

I was able to wear an easy Lolita coordinate~  It is a secondhand JSK and KC set I got from Near in Osaka I believe.
KC, JSK, socks: BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT
Blouse: Little Dipper (taobao)
Bag: Swimmer Japan

Ribbon ring: BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT
Cake ring, unicorn ring: Don't really remember haha

I need to make another backdrop for my sweeter and pastel outfit photos.

After visiting the cafe, we went to the animate shop proper (their main business; the cafe is really more of an attraction) where I found several of the A and C prizes from a previous Cardcaptor lottery drawing!  A prize is the Clow Staff, and C prize is the Dream Staff.  I couldn't buy both so I went with the Dream Staff since I already have the Clow staff as a lip balm (seen in photos above.)

The pen can also be worn as a bag charm

Although I am saving money to try and purchase property soon, NT$400 seemed too good a deal to pass up!  Drawings usually cost NT$320-360 and the prizes are random.  I also bought a couple of Style by ROCK! x Monster Hunter keychains (only NT$50 each) for my ita bag.  So the pen and stand is an unexpected expense, but I love it!!!

Now I just need to make a new Clear Card cosplay outfit for Taiwan Teddy.  I want ot make her a new wig in a lighter color, since the current wig seems to be too close to her fur color.  Then she can use this pen as a cosplay prop!  I think it is really quite well made so I am happy!

Who is your favorite magical girl/magical transformation series?  I know Sailor Moon and Magic Knights Rayearth are also very popular, and more recent ones like DoReMi.  I loved Cardcaptor Sakura because her costumes are all actual clothes, not magically conjured ones, and designed for her by Tomoyo!
Tokyo Mew Mew is another one I really like, though it's much more shallow in terms of story line.

Christmasland 2020

Belated Happy Christmas!  Originally I intended to visit Christmasland again for more photos, but to be honest, it simply wasn't as good as the last time I was here in 2018.
