 Life has been a bit exhausting lately! I'm still doing the TikTok streams (hate the platform, hate the AI, but met some nice viewers) so I've shifted to doing GRWM on streams. I'll share some random snaps while I talk about what's been going on!

Recent Makeup

 Happy Valentine's Day!!  Treat yourself (and your loved ones) to something nice today!  I've recently been getting back into doing makeup, and today did a grunge-type look that is really not my usual style.  The dusty red I used ended up looking more brown in photos, but here is a photo dump of all the recent looks I did~

First up is today's red x black look.  You could call it an anti-valentine look, though I personally don't dislike Valentine's Day just because I'm single!

Popteen Kumikki Color Make Tutorial Case 3: Yellow x Pinup

 Last case of the Kumikki Color Make tutorials!  This is a retro theme!  I tried to do my hair like hers as well for the finished photo.  Today is a lesser-seen color in makeup: yellow.  Mixed with the pinup theme, it's not something I have seen or would have thought of myself.

Today is about Case 2: Pink x Girly from the Kumikki Color Make tutorial series!  I'll be honest; I do not like this one as much, despite pink being one of my favorite makeup colors.  I believe it is largely due to having different products as well as my eyelids having visible discoloration.

Recently I was scrolling old photos and saw some magazine scans I'd uploaded to my Google Photos.  I thought I'd give some of these makeup tutorials a try!  They're from quite old editions of Popteen, perhaps late 2000s or early 2010 eras.  Because I did not upload the entire magazines and the original sources are no longer being hosted (I checked) I am unable to find the rest of the scans.

Belated post!  Unfortunately a lot of life things have been happening and I am not able to do many things right now.  Things are being sorted out, and I can only hope for the best!

Several weeks ago I completed the Velkhana story quest, and have currently been stuck at Namielle.  Velkhana is an ice dragon who is surprisingly small!  I defeated it using Insect Glaive!  My favorite weapon.

For the look, I looked at a lot of "ice queen" looks and then tried to incorporate Velkhana's colors instead.  I set my entire face with highlighter, which was really weird for me, but I guess it looks frosty?  I just think my forehead looks HUGE.

I did a blue and purple cut crease with a silver highlight in the center.  I honestly didn't know what to do with the lips much, so I just added a touch of purple in the center for shading.

I couldn't find white lashes so I just colored on my lashes (after mascara) with while liquid eyeliner. I think it turned out ok?  Velkhana has icicles/spikes coming down from the sides of its face, so I created that with crystals rather than color.

To be honest, I didn't like the overall look as much, but I do like how the eyes turned out!  The blue shadow didn't photograph well in the top photo, but I think it still looks nice!

Today is also Double Ten Festival!  So after today I suppose we will see whether there is a spike in cases and whether restrictions will tighten up again~

I am also going on a "staycation" in a couple weeks (if restrictions don't tighten) so hopefully I'll have something more interesting to blog about.  Everything being closed really makes life quite boring.

Monster Makeup! Ebony Odogaron

Recently I have been progressing in Monster Hunter World Iceborne expansion (yes, I'm probably 2 years late) and have been doing makeup to match the last couple of story quests.
Because it gives me power over the monster.
So far, it is working ^u^

The first one I did was Ebony Odogaron, or as I like to call it, burnt hamburger:

The "lightning" parts for the dragon element were a bit difficult for me to draw.  I referred to a lot of Ebony Odogaron screenshots for the lightning pattern.

The above picture shows Ebony Odogaron, the subspecies, with Odogaron, the base species.  The texture of Odogaron looks like raw hamburger according to DreamBoss__ (friend on Twitch) so I just called it Hamburger since then.  Of course, the Ebony version just looks burnt!

The idea for this one was easy.  I wanted a black and red smoky eye with the lightning/dragon element bits coming out the side. I wasn't able to incorporate the purple shades of the tail into the look this time, but I think it could have been neat either as the eyeliner or as contour!

However, I normally do not wear smoky eye makeup, and oh boy did I learn just how long it takes to blend out all the colors!!!!!!

Overall it was really fun!  Makeup is a really fun creative outlet for me!  Sometimes it turns out well, like this time, and sometimes... less so, but still enjoy the process!!

Do you ever try experimental looks?  Whether it's makeup, fashion, hair (I'm SO boring with my hair!!), etc. I like to see how others experience "wearable art"!

Mizutsune Makeup for Rise!

 Monster Hunter Rise released on the 26th!  I was unable to pre-order, but I need to finish World and Iceborne first anyway.  I did do some Mizu themed makeup though!  Mizutsune is my favorite monster design, and also has some of my favorite armor and weapon designs! The fight itself isn't bad either :D

I did two looks, one is a "wearable" one and the other is based more on kitsune mask makeup!

If you don't look too closely, you won't notice that the background is actually snowflakes instead of bubbles (￣y▽,￣)╭ 

The purple/pink/yellow fade is based on the Mizutsune's fins!

I did try drawing a new eye shape which is longer and more masculine, but I don't think I did a good job

The "full face" look was a bit of an experiment so I didn't get very detailed in the lines or blending, but I think it is an idea I may revisit!

Honestly, I think combining the two looks might be interesting?  Not sure when I'll have the time or energy to do a full face again though!

What is your favorite monster?  I suppose if you don't play Monster Hunter, what's your favorite game monster in general? 

I have an idea for Arzuros makeup, but I don't have the green-blue shift shadow that I imagined in my head w(ﾟДﾟ)w  No guarantees it'd even look good, but in my head I'm trying to picture it looking good!

Soft Cyber Kawaii

 

Recently received a new Cyberdog item and decided to try for a soft take on Cyberkei makeup!  I was sort of making it up as I went, but I think it turned out all right?

I used my bhcosmetics Trendy in Tokyo palette (review) for the purple base in Sake and to sketch out the pink part in Emoji shadow.  The lower lashline shadow is also Sake with Kyoto layered over it in the outer corner (the shimmers help Kyoto blend out smoothly)

The neon pink liner is actually Medusa's Makeup neon pigment powder mixed with eyedrops!  The consistency turned out really smooth and I was able to paint the line fairly easily.  Originally I only did the tail and then the inner corner (the parts that are visible when my eyes are open) but I ended up connecting them in my lid fold so that it'd create a floating liner when I close my eyes.

I rather like the way it looks with only the inner and outer corners visible though :3  Then I use a baked highlighter by AOA Studio for the center and inner corner highlights, and did the wing and lower liner with NYX epic ink liner.  I didn't do a good job of connecting the inner corner though, and my left hand shook when I did my left eye, so I had to fix a blob of liner by layering white eyeliner and then highlighter on top 

With the leftover neon pigment, I colored the inner of my eyebrows, but I think that makes the overall look a little to over the top XD so I may go for plain brows or powder color next time!!

I tried on two different lipsticks, and I think the black is more bold, and the pink more cute!  Not that anybody is going to see them anyway because I wear mask when I go out, just like everybody else haha!  

Usually I do rather over the top looks for Cyberkei with massive lashes and jewels/ribbons/drawing on my face, so I like this more subtle take on Cyberkei!  Pretty sure this mascara is on its way out though...

Thanks for hanging out with me!  I'm excited to do more things with the neon pigments I have.  I'd previously tried using them as shadows, but they require other shadows to blend at all, so I think using them mixed with liquid may be the best bet for me!

Trendy in Tokyo Colorful Palette Review

Colorful makeup is so fun and inspiring!  I love being able to play with a lot of different colors, and had been looking at quite a few rainbow palettes for some time.  In the end, I did an impulse purchase for this Trendy in Tokyo palette from bhcosmetics for US$16 when I was replacing skincare items at Ulta.

It took some time to put together this review because my phone gave up ghost and I was unable to take photos of any makeup I tried 

The palette also includes a nice mirror, which I use when doing my makeup.

Flaming Hot Community Day

 Saturday was November's Pokemon Go Community Day! The Pokemon featured was Chimchar, the fire starter monkey. I didn't have time to do a specific Chimchar makeup so I did a fire-themed general look.  The black-to-red eyeliner blend did not work well,but it was something new to try!

 I went to the Mall of America with my boyfriend and played for the whole three hours. It's incredibly cold here in Minnesota now, so we have to play indoors. There are many, many Pokemon Go players at the mall, though!

New Weezing

 Because there are many people, it's easy to win group battles! We both got this new Weezing. I don't understand why it is Fairy type at all....

 I also got a perfect Chimchar that I evolved to the maximum!

Suicune Battle!

Pokemon Makeup again!

Saturday was the Pokemon Go Suicune battle event where gyms had Suicune available from 16:00-19:00.  I went to the Mall of America with my sister and we battled four gyms there.  She caught all four Suicune but I only caught one!  Luckily, I had a couple from the first time it was available, so it's not too bad~

I thought for a long time about how to best express Suicune in a wearable look, and ended up with this!  I didn't draw the diamonds on because I couldn't do it cleanly, but I wish I had diamond crystals or chunky glitter to use on my cheeks instead!

Here's also a short video I posted to my Instagram on the process of doing the look.  I know that my skills aren't very clean and accurate yet, but I like to share the ideas and process so others can try it out too!  If you've got better skills, it'll look better ^^;

Did you participate in the battles on Saturday?  Which legendary dog is your favorite Pokemon?  I like all three to be honest, but Suicune is definitely very beautiful!  I've also done a Raikou look before, so maybe I should do an Entei one next...

Pokemon Go Ralts Community Day

Yesterday was Community Day for Pokemon Go!  I played at a park nearby, but it rained about an hour in so I had to go home.  Still got two shiny Ralts (one I evolved) and also evolved a female one too!

OK that's really all :P  Not much else has been going on with me.  Been in Adult Day Treatment for the past two weeks and I think it's helpful so far.  I hope I can find a job soon though @_@;;  That would be the biggest relief!

Sparkling Christmas Makeup!

Merry Christmas/Blessed Yule/Happy Holidays!  Normally I don't celebrate Christmas but we missed Winter Solstice (usually celebrated by eating tangyuan/glutinous rice dumplings) so my mom and older sister and I met up for Christmas Eve instead. I filmed the makeup I wore on that day!

This was my first time wearing loose glitter out and it lasted for the six hours or so that I wore it!  I have no glitter glue ^^;  But I made it work!  Check it out in the videos please!

Bright Rainbow Makeup

Who loves bright colors?  And rainbows?  And other happy things?  I did a rainbow shironuri look on my Bigo live broadcast recently and decided to adapt it for a daily-wear style makeup!  This type of look would probably go well with fairy-kei, simple black and white Mode looks, or super colorful 6% Doki Doki/galaxxxy styles~

I have many ideas for rainbow makeup, but decided to start with the easiest.  Putting only three colors on each lid makes it easier to see the colors clearly and to blend them better.  I really want to try a rainbow cut crease as well!

Red x Gold Smokey Eye

Yesterday I went out with a friend to an art movie screening so I decided to film the makeup I wore!  I've been playing with different eyeshadow patterns and this one has a more open inner eye and eyelid area.

Smokey Spotlight Eye Makeup Tutorial

I'm back with a quick eye makeup video!  This time it is for a smokey spotlight eye look ^u^

The center color (Arachne by Apocalyptic Cosmetics) did not stick well to the base, so if you have this color (from the Spider Queen Look of the Month subscription) I'd suggest a concealer base added before patting the color on top.

I'd like to try more eyeshadow and makeup looks in general :3  If you have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know! I'm not sure where to look for inspiration since I haven't been using Pinterest any more (should I just get back on there??)
