Halloween 2025 at Maid Cafe and Tamsui!

 YAY Halloween!!  Well, today is Halloween, but I actually celebrated on Wednesday and Thursday instead.  Tonight, I'm staying home (cancelled on an event I was going to attend) to watch movies in discord 😹

On Wednesday, I went to the maid cafe with some friends and leveled up my VIP card!  Which means I got vouchers for phone/camera photo with two maids, so I chose to take a photo with Lena and Yume!  

My costume is a closet costume again, and it's supposed to be the Queen of Hearts!  This is my first time wearing a tiara, and it was actually pretty secure!  I was afraid it would be wobbly.  On Wednesday, I accidentally hid the light switch too far in my hair and I couldn't turn the lights on for photos 😿

Moon Festival BBQs!

 It was Moon Festival on Monday!  I was invited to a friend's for a bbq the Sunday a week before and the Saturday before Moon Festival, but I actually didn't get any photos of my outfits. They were repeat outfits anyway, so I guess it's not that big a deal ^^;

 

The first BBQ had shrimp for me because I don't eat beef/pork/chicken, so I grilled them!  We did indoor BBQ on electric grills at the host's place.  It was delicious! 

 

 

One of the girls brought this delicious tiramisu from Costco!  I wish I could easily go to Costco because some of the food there is really awesome. 

 

  We played mahjong until 5am 😻 before going to sleep.  I got a photo of the host's cat with Violet!

During the night we also played this IRL version of Gartic Phone where you draw a picture, pass it to the next player, they guess what it is, and draw their version, etc. until it circles back to the original person and then we review how accurate or inaccurate the final guess/drawing was and where in the passing process things went wrong.

In the morning, I had toast!  My friend has an adorable Hello Kitty toaster that actually puts Hello Kitty on the bread!  IDK where he got it, but I love it!

At the second BBQ this past Saturday I didn't remember to take photos haha!  But I brought mushrooms, lettuce(?), and bread to make veg sandwiches that I could eat!

 I also stayed the night and headed to board games directly from my friend's house the next day.  His cat chilled against my bag of clothes. 

I didn't wake up early enough for breakfast, but for lunch he ordered something yummy!

Overall, I had a great long weekend.  I went out every day from Friday night through Monday!  Very happy and very tired!

 Happy Valentine's Day (or Internet Friend Day)!  Here's to celebrating self-love, friends, family, and significant others if you have them!

I'm single so I spent the day watching Burn Notice with friends in discord, and then attending a board game night with IRL friends!  I brought salted dark chocolate truffles to share 😻and one of the other members brought canelés and a little cheesecake to share!  They were so delicious~

I went to the Pokemon Center with a couple friends to check out the Chinese New Year Pikachu~

They cost NT$700 each, but the details seem really nice!

A Black Cat Halloween

 MEOW! 🙀 It's almost Halloween!  I celebrated a day early by going to Kokorolia Maid Cafe again~ They had a week-long Halloween event where the maids dress up each day, so I decided to sort of dress up today, too!  Unfortunately, a typhoon is hitting tomorrow, so the weather is already a bit rainy.

I didn't actually have a costume, so I used makeup and face crystals that I bought after Halloween back in 2019 or so when I was in the US!  It took over an hour JUST for the crystals 🙀 and my press-on nails did not make it any easier!  I used a pair of tweezers to handle most of the gems, but some were a bit large and unwieldy.

Valentine's Day Sakura Blossoms

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day?  If so, I hope you had a lovely one!  If not, hope you had a great day all the same.  I spent the day with my mom! 💓

We went to Ikea for breakfast and then went to a park to see the cherry blossoms. It was quite bright and sunny 🌞 so I was rather hot, and it made taking photos difficult because I couldn't actually see my screen or keep my eyes open long!

Long time no blog again :3  I recently have been restricted to staying home due to budget 😿 and didn't know if it would be interesting to share about the bar I went to (didn't even get an outfit shot)

Belated New Year post again! This time I have no excuse as I was not ill... but it did take me a few days to get photos from my friend because my phone ran out of power T^T  It's been having difficulty charging, but I also am reluctant to change to a new phone...

Unfortunately I left my red JSK in Taiwan as I couldn't fit everything in my suitcases when I moved, so this red blouse will have to do!

We had hotpot at Duke's house, and I made fagao that actually split this year!! Not perfectly, but still better than every other time I've made them.

The splitting of the cakes when they rise (fa) is akin to your prosperity growing, so hopefully there will at least be... a little bit of prosperity in my future? Maybe the job situation will work out here? Either that or I can negotiate office hours at my job in Taiwan if I move back?

Duke kindly let me decorate his house with Chinese New Year decorations from decades ago :P Some of them are from when I was still very little!! He still had his Christmas tree up, so here is a combination of eastern and western holidays!

Christmas 2019 AKA Pet Videos

Happy Christmas and Holidays everybody!!

My sister flew me out to Renton, Washington (near Seattle) to hang out with her, her pets, and her boyfriend. They actually had a Christmas tree!

She got gifts for everybody, including the pets! This is the gift for my cat, Natto!

Her boyfriend's cat Luna is very shy and skittish, so she didn't come out to play much.

One of the gifts she got me was Luigi's Mansion 3!!  I've never played any of the previous games before and don't know much about it, so she had me play it that night ^^; It was fun but wow I am JUMPY!! I get spooked easily by the silly little ghosts.

I got my sister a Nintendo eshop card so she can get the multiplayer DLC for her copy of Luigi's Mansion 3 and some other stuff if she wants. Honestly I feel bad for not being able to afford many gifts, though I did make her a pop-up card as well. She went all-out on gifts for all of us!

How was your holiday season? Did you hang out with friends or family? Pets? I miss Natto very much :( This is the first time I've been away from him since I got him!

Happy Halloween! How was your spooky holiday? I had a cookie-decorating party at my friend's house. My original costume idea did not get finished in time, so I just went as a generic modern (rainbow-colored rather than silver) unicorn ^^;

My friend Erin and I baked cookies at my place and then brought them to Calvin's where we decorated!

We then played a spooky game called Betrayal at the Haunted Hill House or something like that :P It's a randomly-generated house where the players explore and find events, items, and omens. Eventually, one will be revealed as the traitor and then we play against each other. There are 50 endings to the base game, and expansions are available! It's a very fun game and perfect for Halloween! Calvin also always plays spooky music to the game and narrates the game like a story.

After that, we played Potion Explosion, also very good for Halloween!

Happy Belated Moon Festival!

Been ill over the weekend so I failed to post in time, but here's a belated Happy Moon Festival/Mid-Autumn Festival to everybody! Thanks for sticking with me ^u^v I appreciate all the comments always~

Of course, Moon Festival is not a national holiday here, and bakeries don't exactly stock moon cakes on the regular, but my good friend Calvin got the idea to go to Costco, so we went with a couple other friends and ended up getting a lot of stuff, as well as alcohol, for a Moon Festival party!

He even found a Taiwanese brand one :3  The flavor is salted egg yolk with lotus seed, my favorite!!

We also did a sort of indoor barbecue (a "modern tradition" for Moon Festival started in the 80s) with tofu for me and pork belly for everybody else.  No pomelos, but that's OK!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend/Friday the 13th! Did you do anything for Friday the 13th, the full moon, or Moon Festival? In some faiths the full moon would be a Sabbat as well I think, and some people are superstitious about Friday the 13th. 

Halloween Meetup at Miss Strega

Despite all the preparation I'd done for my Halloween party, not a single person showed up so I'm very grateful that Neco invited me to this Halloween Lolita Meetup with a different group of Lolitas than I usually hang out with.

I also made this winged coffin the night before and altered Neco's dress the day of the meet! I was very tired =_=;

Happy Galentine's or Valentine's Day!

Happy Galentine's Day!  Or Valentine's Day! A couple days ago, I was watching a Youtube video and the video creator mentioned something called "Galentine's Day," which is a fake holiday invented in the USA and celebrated on Feb. 13. The idea is that girls get together and have waffles for brunch. It doesn't matter whether you are single, dating, married, divorced, etc. It's just a time for women to get together and have fun and love each other!

Though it fell on a Monday this year, I did get together with Kamiko for brunch... at dinner.

I also tried a "cut crease" eyemake for the first time! I think it turned out pretty well considering it was my first time.
