Merry Christmas!!  How was your holiday?

I went to the maid café with my friends and met two new people from Twitch~~

It feels like I wear the same outfit every year for Christmas... I cannot wait to buy more dresses next year!

Beef Noodle Soup Face Mask

Just a short update to let you all know... I finally used the beef noodle soup sheet mask I got a while back!

Yesterday I was having a slow and lazy day couch-rotting, and decided to do a bit of skin care~

After exfoliating with a gel exfoliator, I did my usual essence and moisturizer.  Then it was time to try out the face mask!

The interior package is decorated the same as the box. A nice touch!

For those of you who don't know, I don't eat beef, and haven't done so since 2004 😹so it's been at least 20 years since I've had beef noodle soup!  Of course, I'm still familiar with the scent as it is a common dish here in Taiwan.  Plus, when I mom was first doing chemotherapy last year, she made a lot of beef noodle soup to up her protein intake.

I have to say, they really nailed the spices and herbs in the soup base smell!  It mostly reminds me of the soup base and there isn't a heavy "meaty" smell, but it's recognizably beef noodle soup if you are familiar with it!

The sheet mask itself is undecorated, but felt nice (not too thick or thin) and the essence was plenty.

Overall the effects of the sheet mask were good.  My skin has been rather dry from the winter weather, so this was a nice boost!  The smell of soup does linger long after the mask is removed, which could be a pro or a con to you depending on whether you like it or not!

As a non-beef-eater, I was a bit overwhelmed with the smell at first, but after wearing the mask for a bit, the smell doesn't seem overpowering and it's just a light fragrance you can smell if you rub your nose or something.

I don't have any pets, but I wonder if people with dogs or cats find their pets are intrigued by the smell or not 😹

Would you try a savory-scented skincare product?  It was interesting and I'm glad I gave it a try, but I think I'll be gifting the remaining masks to friends 😹
 

Izakaya Adventure

 It has been YEARS since I've been to a 居酒屋/izakaya and this past Saturday I had the chance to go to one with my friend!

The weather has been much more chilly recently, so it's time for the long sleeves and jackets~  I ought to get some short jackets as I've currently only got hoodies, a couple baseball-style jackets, and then a full-length winter coat.

Kokorolia 6th Year Anniversary

I'm a bit backed up on posts!  I recently went to the 6-year anniversary event (it's about 2 weeks long) for the maid café I normally go to, Kokorolia!

There were special meal sets, 一番賞 (prize drawing), and rotating uniforms and costumes the maids wore!

I tried out the heart-shaped braids again.  It's still very finicky for me, and I was wearing long nails again, but I got it done!

The event was massively popular.  It'd been about a week since the start on the day we went, and the prizes were roughly half gone already!  Based on the prize displays on the wall, which show how many of each prize has been drawn and how many are left, there were over a thousand prize chances.

Exo and I both drew G-tier prize, which is a random swimsuit Polaroid.  He gave me his 😹

We got one drawing chance each as we'd ordered the special meal set, but you could pay extra to draw again (NT$320 if I recall correctly?  Not cheap!)  It seems many customers did indeed pay for extra chances, though.

The girl at the table next to us got one of the top prizes, a printed maid scroll!

I wore red because I wanted to try out the NT$19 set of nails I'd bought on a whim.  The actually fit pretty well, but were a bit transparent so you could see the borders of the gel tape underneath, and when I was removing them, the deformed easily.  So they were a one-time wear set, but I think it was worth!

The special meal set I got was the shrimp pesto pasta!  I chose the fizzy drink because usually they're prettier (the other option was regular red tea)

The pasta ended up having bacon in it 😿but luckily since I was there with Exo, I picked out the bacon and handed them over 😈

 Overall, it was a lovely experience!  My friend Exo had to leave early for work (we only got a seat just before 3pm as it was fully booked at 1pm) but I stayed for my full time and chatted with the maids :3  Learned that Nic also plays Monster Hunter!  Though I think she only played World and skipped Rise due to not liking the art style 😹 So that was fun to talk about!
