Finally got the innerwear and put together a new outfit! I didn't notice my phone was zoomed in too far so I cut of my head a bit 🙀but you can still see the outfit!
To be perfectly honest... I'm not sure if this style suits my body type 😿While I love the aesthetic, the square neckline makes the sleeves fall off my downward-sloping shoulders easily, even with the anti-slip strip stitched on. This is because they don't even touch my skin properly.
The stitching quality of Bobon21 is SO good though! It's fully lined, the ribbons are woven through stitched buttonholes, and the details are on-point! There is an invisible zip on the side to get in and out easily. I think I could have sized down and that may have helped... I did get the top tailored to take it in a couple centimeters, but the other sizes were sold out already anyway.
I'm also not curvy, and I think the top really emphasizes my "sugarcane" body type (straight up and down) since the bottoms are as full and fluffy as Lolita is.
The skirt is really nice, though! It reaches my natural waist and makes me less self-conscious about my poochy belly. I will enjoy wearing it~ It also comes with shorts built in so I don't need to wear another layer! So nice. I'm definitely not used to wearing shorts/skirt this short, and keep trying to pull the shorts down further! I think I'll get used to it throughout the day (hopefully!)
The innerwear is very much cropped, right up to the natural waist! Most likely never going to wear it on its own, though it's designed to be able to be worn on its own as well. It also came with a set of black ribbons and a set of pink ribbons to pin between the jeweled buttons. It's very well-constructed, though doesn't fit my wide, flat ribcage/chest shape perfectly. Under the top, it works perfectly fine, at least!
Now, the big question is.... what would you call this style?
The shops I found with this aesthetic usually just tag/label the clothes with "cute" "girl" "princess" "ballet" or "軟妹" (soft girl) . Usually I'm not terribly bothered with labels, but labels are actually really handy for finding more of what you like!!
Not sure if I'll be buying more of this style as the square neckline is very popular, and it clearly doesn't fit my downward-sloping shoulders and wide torso in a flattering way 😿I'll be keeping an eye out for different necklines in the meantime! I do like the slightly shorter tops as I intend to wear it with Lolita skirts if possible! Hopefully the voluminous skirt can balance out my chunky top look!
Also I didn't really style my hair 😹If I were going out, I think I'd put pink and white ribbons in my hair. I have some clip-on mini ribbons that would match! While KC are my go-to headdress, this style doesn't really have that, so I'd like to try something more subtle, but still pretty and girly~ Maybe some hairpins/clips as well?
Thanks for reading!
Also little life update: I bought some veggies and tofu for my mom this morning, and she was throwing up when I arrived. The nausea seems to be getting worse 😿HOWEVER she is still able to eat and drink, so that's good! We've also got some Chinese medicine for the nausea. Combination Western and Chinese medicine for maximum power!
