Pokémon 30th Anniversary Pop-Up

I am posting from the ER and mobile is a bit difficult with formatting so I hope this post turns out OK!

After the dinner in the previous post, Fruefruuuue and I went to the nearby department store where there was a Pokémon 30th Anniversary pop-up shop!

It wasn't very large but had a decent selection of merch!

There were some giant TCG illustrations!

Very tempted by the clip-on shoulder-riding Captain Pikachu!!!  I've got one wearing one of Ash's hats at home. Though I don't often remember to wear my shoulder Pikachu, I want a couple more!

They also had a good stock of 1:1 Gen 1 Pikachu!!! They've been difficult to find.

I don't play the TCG but the giant card illustrations were cute!!

Does this one remind you of a Shiba Inu on the stairs for some reason too?

One of my favorite pokémon!  I already have a very similar plush to this one.

There were also quite a few box figures/blind boxes.

Not that I have anywhere to display figures. I still haven't figured out where to put the Cardcaptor Sakura figures my sister gave me!

There were plushies of popular pokémon

Magikarp is what my brain feels like most days

And Slowpoke is probably who I would be if reincarnated as a Pokémon (due to Magikarp brain😹)

The little villain Pikachu figures were also adorable!!!

I think I just really love seeing pokémon cosplaying as other characters haha!

The one I brought home was...

For NT$1999 it was less expensive that the one at the Nintendo shop at 三創/Syntrend (tech area)!

I also got a free bonus plush for spending over a certain amount and joining their membership~ The remaining choices were a Great Ball or a Chansey

Easy choice!

It was also the last Chansey plush they had in stock (not sure if they will restock)

Chonkachu is adorable!!! It brings some nostalgia~~

Which pokémon generation did you first start on in the franchise?  I started right with Gen 1 when it was on Saturday morning cartoons!  But due to having Chinese school, we actually did not get a chance to watch many episodes. The Pokémon 2000 movie starring Mew and Mewtwo was a big moment!

The first generation of anime I watched in full was Best Wishes (Gen 5) so I have fond feeling for it as well.
