I'm super far behind on posting!!! After we got out of the hospital I met up with visiting Singaporean friends for a couple days and am now accompanying my mom in China!
So I'll probably be playing catch up for at least a month!!

It was a bit sweet and not nearly as garlicky as I'd hoped for. Nice to try still!
Honestly it's not worth it haha. The century egg doesn't enhance the flavor at all and this vendor didn't grill it particularly well either to be honest.
There were three groups. Very cool.
Old style buildings have beautiful artisan decorations. We don't make buildings like this any more, sadly. The arts were lost with industrialization. Though I think these could be mass-produced also 😹😹

At the night market I got a century egg grilled stinky tofu as I'd never seen it before.

Before the night market, we went to an old street at the hotel we were staying at. It's a cultural promotion place, and there were some nice little shops but many don't allow photos.
We also encountered some performance troupes! They cleared the street for them to perform. It was pretty cool.
I believe they are from Japan and Korea?
