T-shirt Surgery

I forgot I had this post sitting in my drafts!
Before I started doing hair/makeup GRWM on TikTok, I did some T-shirt surgery to kill time.  I was flagged three times for being "too revealing" for the three days I did it.  Who knew showing a picture of somebody's back was scandalous?  Or that a dressmaker's mannequin was risque?

TikTok AI is so stupid. Anyway, I ended up being pretty happy with most of the surgeries I did!

Before

The first shirt I did, I only cut the back.  I probably could have cut more strips up higher, but it is still ok to me!  It's pretty simple no-sew style; double laddering and then tied into ribbons in the center.

After
The next shirt was a bit of an experiment/risk because I'd seen an idea on Instagram, but the page refreshed on accident so I couldn't find the reel again and had to wing it!  It basically cuts long strips from the lower back by making an X shape.  It's difficult to explain!
Before

So I had to remember how to draw and cut from memory 🙀 which I am... not good at.  My brain is really smooth.

After
I think the sleeves could be cut a bit shorter too

Luckily I remembered enough that it worked!  I don't know if this is exactly the same as the original, but at least the waist tie works!  The back can also be cut out to reveal more of the back, but I'm keeping it like this for now.  If I get bored, I can scoop it upward in the future!
Back

For my Halloween Pikachu shirt, I just wanted to distress it so it had an overall spookier vibe.

It actually took quite a bit longer to get it looking right to me.  Mixing the hole sizes and positions was not as easy as people online make it seem! I did a lot of flipping it around and looking from different angles and then doing more cutting.

I have one more long sleeve Pokemon T-shirt that I slashed the sleeves on, but haven't decided what to do with the back yet~

Do you enjoy modifying your own clothes?  It can give them more life and unique style!
