Whew! On Day 5 it was my actual birthday! I was running out of ideas as I usually don't go out much, but I did know that kayz0rbeam wanted to eat at 春水堂/Chun Shui Tang, which is one of the shops who claims to have created boba. Also, it's just good 😸
So we went to a cultural park that has a variety of pop-up shops, exhibits, and displays as well as some restaurants.
On the fourth day of birthday week we celebrated my birthday early! Originally we wanted to get the reservation for the day of my birthday (Friday) BUT the afternoon tea set was not available then! So we decided to go a day early!
Continuing on our week-long adventure! On Wednesday we went to popular area Ximending. We went to kokorolia and I got a Polaroid with my favorite maid Lena and kayz0rbeam!
It's been a bit of delay, but my mom and I are home now so I can update on Day 2 of adventures with my friend kayz0rbeam!
She wanted to look into getting a facial while in Taipei, so I got a recommendation from my classmate. It's important to look at reviews and also the doctors. My classmate had asked for additional procedures after her first one to treat undereye shadows and been turned down due to the procedures not being suitable or effective for she was looking for, which I think is a good sign. You need a doctor who can tell you "No" instead of taking your money and doing anything you ask, even if it won't actually do anything.
In the morning we first went to Vivienne Westwood shop, but they don't have a cafe there any more! The Google Maps had photos of sweets but they were several years old, so I'm not sure when the cafe portion was removed.
After a quick browse through the shop, we got some bubble tea at Odd One Out but my photos seem to have disappeared???? It was quite tasty!
We stopped by Uniqlo for some bra tops kayz0rbeam needed and I took a mirror selfie:
I know I said there would be a series of posts on my birthday week with my friend but unfortunately the same day kayz0rbeam went back to Tokyo my mom ran a fever and that evening we went to the ER.
After spending a night in the ER, we were able to get transferred to another hospital for a ward as my mom's white blood cells have dropped dangerously low again and COVID cases are up (several people in the ER were positive, so it was unsafe to be there)
We've been here since so I will not be able to edit and post the drafts I've got!! The planned discharge date is next Monday, so I'll resume posting next week.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time! 💞 Fortunately my mom is not as severely ill as the first hospital stay so there is less work for me to do as well. We'll do our best and I hope you're all doing well too!
