Taipei 101 Observatory

Living somewhere, it is often easy to overlook local attractions in search of more "exotic" fun elsewhere.  Taipei 101 is definitely one of those things for me!  Despite how easy it is to access, I have never been to the observatory on the 89th and 91st floors... until now!

KC, JSK: BABY THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT
My friend from Twitch, Raisondetroy (no longer streams), and his wife + family came to Taiwan on Thursday!  We met up in the evening for Taipei 101 and Raohe Night Market.

Taipei 101 is very easy to access by MRT, so we met up at the MRT station and headed up to the fourth floor to access the observatory.  It costs NT$420 for a ticket purchased on the spot.

The 89th floor is an enclosed observatory and you can look around all four sides to see all of Taipei!  There are photoshoot spots set up throughout the space so you can take photos as well~  I only took photos at two of the locations that I thought were prettier.

The nighttime view is pretty.  There were quite a few tourists there!  There's also a souvenir shop for those interested in getting souvenirs :)  Raison got pressed coins for his collection.

While queuing to go up in the super speedy elevator, there is a spot where the employees will take photos of your group against a greenscreen and then put your choice of background in!  We actually forgot to check the photo while we were at the observatory, but they let Raison go back up to purchase the photos, so that was nice!

If it is not too cold, you can also take the stairs up to the 91st floor, which is the outside observatory.  It was a bit windy when we went, but you can see the nice skyline!

Of course, 101 also has their Christmas decorations up, so we took some snaps by the cute gingerbread village that was set up on the fourth floor~

The tree is very tall and has big teddy bears hanging on it!!

Overall, it was a fun experience!  And I'm so glad I got to finally meet Raison in person after knowing each other for 3+ years online~

Are there any local attractions in your area that you neglect?  I feel like this is a common thing!
