Update (Mobile Post)

Quick post from my phone! On the 17th we took an ambulance to the hospital as my mom was not responding well and had a fever. Luckily her friends had come to visit because I didn't realize how serious things had gotten. We'd still been messaging on Tuesday and by Thursday we were in hospital.

We've been here ever since. I need to help her with weighing intake and output, and she's weak so I support her when walking.

The first two days were very bad as my mom was throwing up so I stayed by her bedside. We also didn't have a ward room so I had nowhere to sleep and spent the night on a plastic chair with no cushion. The emergency room also is kept quite cool to reduce bacteria and due to the sudden nature of our trip to the hospital, I was wearing a t-shirt and shorts. I did put on a vest and light jacket I'd packed for my mom but it wasn't enough!

Thankfully I've been able to get a couple rides back to grab stuff for a longer stay at the hospital! So now I have a jacket and a backpack.

My mom's friends have also been visiting regularly and giving tips because I'm not good at taking care of people. I do my best, but just don't think of things sometimes like I have holes in my brain!

It's been 12 days and my mom is doing better now. Yesterday she was finally able to eat a bit without getting sick!  Earlier the food would run right through which was messy and stinky! I had a lot of cleanup to do then 🙀

Hoping the white blood cells count is up today. It's been so low the doctors won't let her go home even in a car, avoiding public transportation.

Anyway, we're doing our best here! And at least I have a bench to sleep on. It's not the most comfortable but compared to a plastic chair, it's amazing ~

I've had to cancel meetups with friends and am missing out on the first limited time event in Monster Hunter Wilds but hope we'll be discharged soon! Staying optimistic especially now that my mom is starting to eat! She's been on IV this whole time for nutrition. Let's keep doing our best! Jiayou!
