Are you ready for an influx of posting? My long-time friend kayz0rbeam (met in around 2008-2009 era) came to Taipei to visit me this past week! I got a taxi for her when she arrived and then we got settled at my place before heading out for some dinner and drinks!
This restaurant is supposed to be Hakka cuisine, though I'm honestly not sure what makes it Hakka. We got some duck with taro, stinky tofu with century egg and salted egg, shrimp fried rice, and water lily (?) for a veg.
Afterwards, we went to a nearby tea-themed bar called Tei by OBOND. It is by reservation ONLY! And they open at exactly 8 so it's easy to miss the place as the metal grate is not raised until 8pm.
Overall it's a chill vibes sort of place with cocktails that have complex flavor profiles. I think it's too advanced for my pleb brain to appreciate fully, to be honest.
I think this is the type of place you would go if you just want a place to enjoy good drinks and chat with your friend/s. It's not a bustling place and there aren't a whole ton of seats available. They do also ask that customers keep their voices down. If you like a calm environment, this place is nice!
I didn't get an outfit shot on this day😿
What is your favorite cocktail "type" if you drink cocktails? I like refreshing drinks (light, tea) or sweet, fruity or dessert type ones! It's a bit contrasting I guess~
ooooo like a special club! Also I love stinky tofu!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if what I like is considered cocktail but I love screwdrivers, sprite and vodka and a few other vodka based ones XD
I would love to try more cocktails with tea, my favorites at the moment are Aperol Sptritz and our national cocktail "terremoto"
