Earlier this year I did a random shopping spree on taobao... or two! It's mostly Lolita things and some daily items as well, so I thought I would do an old-school haul post!
Sash and waist charm
The main piece I bought was a modern hanfu Lolita dress with adorable bunnies on it!
Sleepy bunny!
I debated a long time whether to get this one or a different hanfu lolita dress, but I like the top design on this! It's quite different. Turns out I should have sized down as an L is too large in the top and the bottom is free size anyway!
The following photo is a quick try on. The bunny ears are not as nice as I'd hoped, so I may remove the ribbons and make hair clips from them instead. The blue ribbons with long tails are also removable, so they can go anywhere! I don't think I'll use the blue sash much (first photo in this post) and need to figure out where to put the waist charm~
Trying on for size
I will also need to use my stronger petticoat so the layers of the skirt are more noticeable. The white layer underneath the printed layer is pleated!
Next I picked up a couple old school blouses. I've been wearing chiffon blouses for about a decade or more because they're easy to care for, but this means I also don't wear my skirts any more! I bought these blouses so I can hopefully change up my coordinates and get some wear out of my skirts as well (assuming I still fit them even...)
After receiving this top, I can see why the price point is higher... it's super well-made! The entire top is fully lined and the lining is stitched down. The ribbon is woven through buttonholes and the sleeves have anti-slip strips sewn into the shoulders.
I bought an L as that was the only size left, so ended up needing to take it to a tailor to get the front taken in 2cm (the most that could be taken in with the top's construction without completely remaking it) so it fits a bit better on my flat chest, but with my downward-sloping shoulders, the sleeves don't stay on well. I'll have to figure something out... plus my bra straps show due to the wide cut. At least I have some "fashion" straps on one of my bras that would match!
And some printed socks because why not? Though I didn't have any coordinates in mind when buying these tights, they're cute and reversible! I actually don't like reversible socks that much because they don't have a heel so it bunches around the ankles a bit.
Best construction I've seen in a long time
There were many other shops that seem to be knockoffs of this shop's clothing for lower prices. I doubt they'd have the same construction quality, but might give one a try just to see? I'm watching this shop now to see if they upload any new products!
Next I got some basic socks for summer!
I think there was one more pair of tights I forgot to take photos of... and I also bought a socks container for my socks, but that's not so interesting haha.
Still waiting on my second order, but I'm posting this first so it's not one giant post later!
Such pretty things! I am really loving that hanfu with the bunnies! It's a shame about the headpiece though. But at least you can utilize it the way you want!
