Weekend Meetups

 On Sunday I met up with a community member from my Twitch community who was in Taiwan with his family for a few days.  We only had a couple hours to meet up so I dressed casually and we went for coffee~

The cafe I originally wanted to go to was full, so we just went next door to a cafe that specialized in scones.  Their minimum spend on a weekend was $250, unfortunately, which is quite high as a drink and a scone would only land between $175-200.  I ordered a set meal as I hadn't eaten much, so luckily it was able to cover for us a bit!

Weekday minimum is $150 which is much more manageable.  The scones here really are very good! And whatever that egg dish in the ramekin is, it's delicious.  The cream and jam really elevate the scone as well~

We were both a bit shy and reserved, but I'm glad we got to meet up and catch up on some mutual friends and reminisce about years past and games we'd played together.

On Monday I met up with a friend from dance that I hadn't seen since 2007 or so when she moved to California!  She's married now, so I met her husband as well~ We went to ximending and got to catch up and chat!  

Of course we got Xinfutang bubble tea and Ah Zong Rice Noodles haha!

I also tried an "alternating colors" coordinate with my black x pink dress.  So it was light KC, dark blouse, light underskirt and socks, dark shoes.  I think it worked out well!  The strawberry necklace and ring are new, but I am certain I bought a knockoff instead of original now 🙀 I didn't research the shops enough!

We got a sushi and sashimi dinner, which was really delicious!  I've come to this restaurant 若櫻壽司 a few times now, and it's always delicious.

We also did a lot of catching up and talked about how so many of our dance class had moved to California 😹 It would be fun to do a reunion there, but NTD is definitely weak to USD.... so they should all come to Taiwan for a reunion instead, where they would all be considered rich!
