Since one of my goals for the year was to coordinate my main pieces in more varying ways, I decided to put together a few collages of dresses to see how I have been coordinating them.
It was a lot of scrolling through my phone camera! I just put together the most recent four photos of each dress that I could find. I don't always take coordinate photos though, so there's some missing.

Socks: White
Shoes: Blue or white (but the white ones have since been tossed)
Socks: White, blue
Shoes: Pink, blue
Blouse: Black, pink, white
Socks: Black, white
Shoes: Pink, black
I think this dress varies quite a bit depending on what color is brought out. I also need to wear my strawberry necklace/ring with it more!
KC: Black
Blouse: Black, white
Socks: Brown, white
Shoes: Blue
OK I really don't know how to add variety to this dress coordinate!! I really like this pair of socks and they match well as this is my only chocolate dress! But I don't have any sax KC or other type of headwear!
I wonder if I could manage pink accents? Like a pink KC (plain or floral), pink blouse, pink shoes? I usually carry my pink Swimmer bag with this coordinate as well as Violet in her doll bag and in her matching dress.
Seeing the coordinates lined up, I think I actually had a bit more variety than I thought I did with some of the dresses! There's definitely still room to improve.
Since I haven't got the budget to buy new blouses right now, I will try to play around with the ones I have and think about buying colored blouses in the future when I've got a job and income again.
The other thing that I think could help with variety is actually hair! I really need to work on adding to my hairstyles! I usually put in more effort with the yellow outfit due to the larger headbow, but should really try to learn some more styles!
Since I don't have a hime cut or blunt-cut bangs/fringe at all, I feel like some styles don't look very good on me. It's time to experiment!

I really enjoyed seeing how you styled things differently! I think hair can add a lot of variety too. hair and makeup can really transform how you feel about an outfit!! I relate to the no bangs thing, I feel like most japanese hair tutorials require bangs but I've tried (clip in) bangs and they looked atrocious on me, never again xD so I just try to alter the hairstyles without it. Sometimes I leave the front pieces of my hair out and curl them since they're a bit shorter. I don't know how your hair is cut, but maybe you could do that?

DeleteYes! It seems like bangs are almost a requirement!
I cut my own hair so it's not very well styled. It's mostly one-length, just very gradual U-curve and slightly layered. I did cut two shorter bits in the front, but need to trim those again!
Curling them is a good idea. I'll have to try to leave enough time to do that. I also tried clip-in bangs and I'm not sure I like how it looks? Maybe I'll try wearing them out someday....
