Tokyo Crazy Kawaii Taipei - Human Edition

Last time I posted a post only of my teddy bear,but I finally got the photos of myself!

A random lady asked me about my Biscuit bag!

I received this gift from an artist there because he said I was a movie star (it's the shades, I promise!)

 And then we took photos together by his artwork!

This is KOKOkim's stand (brand by Kimura U, who often appears on Kawaii.i or other tv and Youtube shows about Japan). The prints were adorable and posters were sweet!  I loved the bags and shoes, but the quality of the clothing was actually quite poor so I was very disappointed and didn't purchase anything :(

Her outfit is BABY THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT and her purse is Swimmer!  Super cute!

Aye Aye, Captain!

The most recent Lolita meetup was a sailor-themed meetup at a pirate-themed restaurant in 西門町/XiMenDing called Ducat Gold.  It was very goofy and lovely!

Our host DORO prepared some half-moon cakes and red/white flags for a game!  She'd only just returned from Japan but managed to throw together an amazing meetup!

These are the two flags DORO made.  We played the raise-flag game similar to Shy Guy Says from Mario Party

The Daiso Japan expression glasses make another appearance!  This is probably the worst idea for "punishment" for people who don't adhere to the theme because we all end up taking photos with these on anyway...

Still no makeup,but I'm happy to say laser vision correction has worked out very well for me so far!

My nail stickers even fit the theme!!

Tokyo Crazy Kawaii Taipei

On Sunday I went to the final day of Tokyo Crazy Kawaii!

The ticket price was quite high and I was unfamiliar with most of the performance artists, but the vendors were great! I was happy to see KOKOkim brand in real life, though I must admit the fabric quality is rather poor.... The bag and shoes were lovely and the prints were cute though!

Candy workshop you can diy some candy! It was too crowded though...


This is a kimono printed as a sewing pattern with instructions! I remember this used to be done with bags and aprons and quilts since they are easy to make. Having a ready to cut kimono in cute and funny prints would be great too!


I will put photos with me and artist details after the high quality photos are done, but this is a mobile post with Teddy as the main model 😉

Modern Traditional Moon Festival

I had my first "modern traditional" Moon Festival celebration this year! Traditionally, we eat pomelos (and make hats with the skin) and mooncakes and look at the moon. About 20 years ago, for some reason, Taiwan started adding barbecue to the list of things to do for the Moon Festival.

What has BBQ got to do with mid-autumn? Not much, to be honest, but it gets the younger generation involved so why not?

In Minnesota, we had a grill and could barbecue on our deck. Space is a luxury here, so you can see the streets lined with people grilling on small grills while squatting or seated on low stools and the smell of different meats, seafood, and vegetables along with everybody's own unique blend of sauces will fill your nose for the whole weekend!

Teddy is pretending to run. Really, she never exercises, just like me.

So on Sunday evening I went to my first proper roadside BBQ with my boyfriend (P.S. I am officially in my first relationship of my life) at a bike shop his friend owns. There was a ridiculous amount of food!!! Since I am vegetarian, I didn't eat any of the insane abundance of MEAT MEAT MEAT but it was still fun!

A bike shop two shops down also had a BBQ and we went to that one on accident first and they said if we couldn't find the right shop we should just join theirs. Gotta love the hospitality!

Absolutely enormous Japanese shrimp and a squid. I don't know who brought those shrimp, but they are normally quite expensive!!!

Overall it was very fun! Though I actually didn't even eat any moon cakes at all this year ^^; I'm sure the gifting of moon cakes will continue for a week or so though! Our office did give moon cakes before the Moon Festival, but they contained pork floss so I gave them to my boyfriend Ano instead.

Did you observe the moon this weekend? It was very bright and large!

Carnival Theme Meetup!

On Saturday we had a Lolita meetup with the theme of... Carnival/Circus!

The restaurant we went to was called "Carousel Cafe" so it seemed fitting to have a carousel theme, but not everybody had a carousel print so the theme was expanded.

Unfortunately, I still don't have anything really that fits the theme, so I decided to be a bear from the circus... And brought Teddy with me so we could twin. I can't do any tricks though :P

I won't be able to wear any makeup near my eyes for around a month due to the laser vision correction, so it is sunglasses to the rescue!!

I've actually never been to a circus, but it seems to be a cute and popular theme :)
