Twitch Meetups in Taipei!

 This past week two Singaporean friends from Twitch came to Taipei (separately, though they know each other!) and we were able to meet up!

 

On Wednesday we went for a weeb day and went to the Taipei Metro Mall, Syntrend and Wanhua, and Wannian buildings for all the ACG merch!

For lunch we went to a buffet!  I ate a lot, but will save you the photos of my ugly plates and just show you a couple with Violet~

Desserts! 

On Saturday we went to the maid cafe and I wore red to get "credits" for my school house (Fire). It was the last day of the event, so I can't "graduate" this year, but it was still fun!

I got my usual of fish burger, and got the set meal this time!  I really want the mentaiko pasta, but that's only available in the Magic Set 😿

We went to Syntrend again, and there was an Immigrants' Culture Festival going on there!  It was a bit rainy and we didn't stay to look at the vendors, but there was a dance performance going on. NGL IDK which country they are from 🙀

A quick glance seems it was all SEA countries, which makes sense as majority of our immigrant workers are from SEA.  Very grateful to them for their work as most work as helpers!  

My grandma has a daily helper now as well as a regular cleaner helper who has been with my grandparents for over a decade.  I actually still remember the first day she showed up back when I was in grade school at my grandparents' old home!

We browsed the figure shops and then got some drinks at the food court to rest.  I got a taro drink from a dessert shop, which I believe has some overseas branches now?  Have you heard of this brand Meet Fresh?  Currently there is a collaboration with this ugly rabbit (that's its name; I'm not throwing shade!)

The lid on my drink says "straw hug" and each character is saying "pick me!" but I didn't notice until I'd already put my straw in 😹

Afterwards, I went to an afterparty that a friend was hosting.  It ended up being much bigger than I expected!!  No photos allowed, but it was pretty fun! I ran into quite a few people I know and also met some new people 😺 So though I was a bit overwhelmed at times, I'm happy I went!
