I had a busy weekend! On Saturday I went to play board games with some friends, and afterwards one of my other friends last-minute asked if I wanted to hang out, so I inhaled my dinner and went for round two of hanging out!

On Wednesday I went out for a nice sushi lunch with some friends. I did a purple x pink coordinate for the hot, muggy day! I took this photo after I got home so my sunscreen is melting on my face...
Last day of kayz0rbeam in Taipei!!! Her flight was in the afternoon so we went to Taipei Main Station and stored her luggage in a storage facility before doing a bit of exploring around.
Whew! On Day 5 it was my actual birthday! I was running out of ideas as I usually don't go out much, but I did know that kayz0rbeam wanted to eat at 春水堂/Chun Shui Tang, which is one of the shops who claims to have created boba. Also, it's just good 😸
So we went to a cultural park that has a variety of pop-up shops, exhibits, and displays as well as some restaurants.
On the fourth day of birthday week we celebrated my birthday early! Originally we wanted to get the reservation for the day of my birthday (Friday) BUT the afternoon tea set was not available then! So we decided to go a day early!
Continuing on our week-long adventure! On Wednesday we went to popular area Ximending. We went to kokorolia and I got a Polaroid with my favorite maid Lena and kayz0rbeam!
It's been a bit of delay, but my mom and I are home now so I can update on Day 2 of adventures with my friend kayz0rbeam!
She wanted to look into getting a facial while in Taipei, so I got a recommendation from my classmate. It's important to look at reviews and also the doctors. My classmate had asked for additional procedures after her first one to treat undereye shadows and been turned down due to the procedures not being suitable or effective for she was looking for, which I think is a good sign. You need a doctor who can tell you "No" instead of taking your money and doing anything you ask, even if it won't actually do anything.
In the morning we first went to Vivienne Westwood shop, but they don't have a cafe there any more! The Google Maps had photos of sweets but they were several years old, so I'm not sure when the cafe portion was removed.
After a quick browse through the shop, we got some bubble tea at Odd One Out but my photos seem to have disappeared???? It was quite tasty!
We stopped by Uniqlo for some bra tops kayz0rbeam needed and I took a mirror selfie:
I know I said there would be a series of posts on my birthday week with my friend but unfortunately the same day kayz0rbeam went back to Tokyo my mom ran a fever and that evening we went to the ER.
After spending a night in the ER, we were able to get transferred to another hospital for a ward as my mom's white blood cells have dropped dangerously low again and COVID cases are up (several people in the ER were positive, so it was unsafe to be there)
We've been here since so I will not be able to edit and post the drafts I've got!! The planned discharge date is next Monday, so I'll resume posting next week.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time! 💞 Fortunately my mom is not as severely ill as the first hospital stay so there is less work for me to do as well. We'll do our best and I hope you're all doing well too!
Are you ready for an influx of posting? My long-time friend kayz0rbeam (met in around 2008-2009 era) came to Taipei to visit me this past week! I got a taxi for her when she arrived and then we got settled at my place before heading out for some dinner and drinks!
This restaurant is supposed to be Hakka cuisine, though I'm honestly not sure what makes it Hakka. We got some duck with taro, stinky tofu with century egg and salted egg, shrimp fried rice, and water lily (?) for a veg.
Rainy day today!!! But I went out for tacos anyway~ Decided to pull out a skirt I rarely wear
Have you heard of Labubu? I was actually surprised to find one of my friends hadn't heard of it despite how big it is not only here in Taiwan, but worldwide it seems! I do not follow Labubu at all myself, but I do know what it is.
So how did I end up buying Labubu? Well, last night my little sister messaged me to ask if we had some new Labubu launches (Big Energy, Take a Seat, and uh... something I forget) but I was unable to find any online.
Then today, my friend (the one who doesn't know who is Labubu) asked if I was free for lunch to grab some Indian good as I'd been craving it recently! So we went to Ximending and as we passed the Pop Mart shop, we were surprised to find there wasn't a queue outside! There is always a queue outside Pop Mart! My theory is that due to the launch of a new collection today, everybody had already come and purchased early on. Plus, it was lunchtime on a weekday.
Anyway, so we popped inside to take a look around!
A few posts ago I mentioned I wanted to get rid of some of my handmade dresses. There's really some problems with several of them and I'm on the fence about whether to keep or toss a few. So here is a collection of my dresses and what my current thoughts on them are!
Yesterday we went to the emergency room again and my mom's white blood cells count was dangerously low, at 400 (it'd been 8000 when released from hospital and 2000 during Monday's hospital visit)
So we were there for about six or seven hours and she got a white blood cell booster shot.
Today we went back for another booster as recommended, and will go back tomorrow as well. Fortunately today only took about an hour.
I wish I had more positive or interesting photos and such to share, but this is how things are right now. And my emergency room outfits aren't terribly interesting ha!

When my mom was in the hospital I spent too much time browsing shopping sites and ended up buying a little treat for myself of lashes and press-on nails. They have arrived!
On Tuesday night I went to Raohe night market to meet up with my friend Tex who I've known since 2010! Time does fly! Also met his girlfriend who does TRIATHALONS????? And she did one THE MORNING OF THEIR FLIGHT 🙀 That is a lot of energy that I simply don't have 😹
I guess I usually forget to take photos at night markets. I just had some fried quail eggs and a cup of sugarcane juice anyway. There's loads of stuff to see, but I always forget to take photos or video!
Just a short update post today!
Wow right after I did the mobile post, we got great news! My mom's white blood cells were high enough for us to go home! We did some routine checkup work for her for a few more hours, I helped her settle back home, and now I finally turn my PC back on after so long!

Planning on streaming tomorrow to see the Blossom Festival in Monster Hunter Wilds for the first time! I'm so excited! Unless I end up going out... then I'll stream Wednesday instead! And Thursday is Labor Day so I can do an earlier stream then. So happy!
Hoping the next few chemotherapy sessions don't have such drastic side effects. At least now we are better prepared 💪
Quick post from my phone! On the 17th we took an ambulance to the hospital as my mom was not responding well and had a fever. Luckily her friends had come to visit because I didn't realize how serious things had gotten. We'd still been messaging on Tuesday and by Thursday we were in hospital.
Finally got the innerwear and put together a new outfit! I didn't notice my phone was zoomed in too far so I cut of my head a bit 🙀but you can still see the outfit!
Hey everybody! I've got some unfortunate life updates so I'll talk about it while sharing some recent photos.
My mother's cancer is no longer being managed by the medication, and started chemotherapy yesterday.
On Sunday I met up with a community member from my Twitch community who was in Taiwan with his family for a few days. We only had a couple hours to meet up so I dressed casually and we went for coffee~
It's been a busy several days for me, so I'm a bit behind on posts! Going out every day can really take a toll.
On Saturday I went to my first brand-hosted tea party by Taiwanese Lolita brand Little Rose Planet! I've known the owner Mei for so long I can't remember when we met any more 😹 One of the girls actually asked me that question at the tea party, which is why I started thinking about it, and realized I have no idea! She's lovely and often collaborates with talented artist Zihlinghuang for prints!
I saw the Little Rose Planet instagram post about the tea party and signed up and paid right away! There were no new product launches or products to buy at the tea party as most brand events have, but I wanted to support anyway!
The location also got changed as the original restaurant didn't want to reserve for such a large group 😾without a down payment. Luckily, the alternate restaurant chosen was one I'd had saved on my Google Maps for a while, so I'm really glad we went there!
They also had a special guest Cathy Cat from Japan (iirc, she said she's German, studied in UK, then moved to Japan) and it was lovely to meet and chat with her too!
Earlier this year I did a random shopping spree on taobao... or two! It's mostly Lolita things and some daily items as well, so I thought I would do an old-school haul post!
2/22 is Japan's National Cat Day as it sounds like "nyan nyan nyan" and also happened to be our February lolita meetup date! So we had the theme of Cat, naturally.
I also discovered I don't have any cat prints... mine are mostly BABY's bears or usakumya, or sweets! My one Putumayo JSK has a subtle print of Alice in Wonderland that includes the Cheshire Cat, so I wore that one~
Totally random post to show my character in Monster Hunter Wilds! The Beta Tests (total of three times) allowed us to edit our characters with unlimited changes, so I tried to make it look like me. There are some parts that cannot be changed the way I want, but I think it's closer than my World character at least!
I also don't have eyeshadow as purple as the one I gave my character! I should have gone for a pale pink instead. The bump on the nose is also lower on the character than my bump IRL, but it's the closest I could get! It's also the first time a bump nose was even available in Monster Hunter.
So overall, I don't think it really looks like me, but I also spent about seven hours on it already and don't know how to change it further within the limitations of the system.
The full game launches in a week! I ordered the steelbook (comes with two coasters) so I won't be able to play Day 1 as I must wait for delivery, but am still excited!

I'm single so I spent the day watching Burn Notice with friends in discord, and then attending a board game night with IRL friends! I brought salted dark chocolate truffles to share 😻and one of the other members brought canelés and a little cheesecake to share! They were so delicious~
It's been a while since I've gone out with my schoolmate! This past weekend we went for some evening outing at a cafe and then a speakeasy~

Yesterday I went to the Taipei Game Show!! whirow from Singapore came to TW for the event so we met up~ I also got to meet itsneyrin for the first time in person!
Hiro and I arrived first and we tried to catch the Monster Hunter Wilds livestream on stage, but the location was so large we got lost and made it to the stage right after the stream ended 😿
We did pass a Monster Hunter partbreak challenge mini booth, but when we met up with everybody else and went back to try, it had already ended!! So ended up with no Monster Hunter chance as the Wilds beta demos were already booked fully.
We did see two Monster Hunter cosplayers though!
