Last weekend we had our Christmas Lolita tea party with our friend group! One caught COVID and had to cancel, but the rest of us were able to meet up and have fun~
Yesterday I went to Kura Sushi with a friend! I wore dress I made years ago. It's one of the ones I'm actually satisfied with! It's got a kawaii-punk fabric print and a military-inspired top.
WOW I had no time to update my blog while I was in the USA! I don't think I'd be able to make a good post so I'm just posting some photo highlights!!
I was in Minnesota for 2 weeks (previously posted about it) and then California for 3 weeks. I was mostly in Los Angeles but went to San Diego the weekend of TwitchCon to meet friends! I did not attend the convention itself as it was pricey, so I refer to my weekend there as Not TwitchCon!
Have some random photos!
I've landed in Minnesota! I'll be here for 2 weeks before going to LA for 3 weeks.
So far I've mostly been running errands with my mom but I did get to go to an interesting event that I never thought I'd go to: a car show. It was called Hot Import Nights Minneapolis.
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos. There were some really crazy cars there!! Some didn't even look like they could be used normally.
They also had booths for all the car models. SO many hot and sexy ladies there @_@; I went with my friend Andy, who has a mark 5 Supra and was a part of the show.
I also got a photo with one of the car models who had the longest line! She's from Shanghai and based out of Texas now. I believe her name is Vicky, but I didn't catch her instagram handle! (I also look like such a scrub next to her!)
It was a surprisingly fun event given that I have zero interest in cars! Met a lot of people and chatted for 6 hours. I got to meet Andy's friend Cece in real life (met her on discord while she and Andy were playing Overcooked 2) and she won the model contest!
In future, I'll remember to take more photos of events I go to!!
How many years has it been since the last proper Lolita meetup? On Saturday there was a Lolita marke (which I did not attend) and afterward several of us got together at a restaurant called Campus Cafe to eat and chat!
I wore my yellow kumya friends JSK that I love so much! Because it was so hot, I put my hair up into two fluffy buns. My hair had quite a few flyaways which looked a bit messy in my opinion.
On Sunday I went out with my friend Doro for some cakes and chat! We went to IKEA Cafe. I wore a casual Putumayo punk lolita outfit. The lighting was poor so it's not a very good photo, but it was comfortable and enjoyable!
Last case of the Kumikki Color Make tutorials! This is a retro theme! I tried to do my hair like hers as well for the finished photo. Today is a lesser-seen color in makeup: yellow. Mixed with the pinup theme, it's not something I have seen or would have thought of myself.
I actually tried following the Popteen Kumikki Color Make tutorial, but it didn't go as planned so I will be attempting it again another time. The pink color matched the pink accents in my dress!
Recently I went with my friend Kamiko to Madam Rose, and elegant tea house! It's rather expensive and very gorgeous inside. It's not somewhere to go often, yet has the ability to stop time while you are there~ So luxurious.
On April 1st, Kamiko and I made the trek to a distant (it's not actually far away; it's just difficult to get to because of lack of public transit) cat restaurant! Different to most cat cafes, the focus is on the cats with a small, separate restaurant area. The interior is large and spacious (a bonus of being at a distant location!) with cat furniture made of wood and nests woven from branches.
Yet another flower post! This is the last one for a while~
Kamiko and I went to a wisteria place that actually costs money to enter. It was sunny and cloudy, so the clouds served as a wonderful light filter! It wasn't terribly hot either. This was truly a perfect day to go see flowers.
A popular flower for elegance, and definitely popular with Lolita prints, roses are widely loved! This time, Kamiko and I went to the Rose Festival on a Friday afternoon. It was EVEN SUNNIER than when we went to see sakura!!
I wore my Gingham Ribbon Rose OP to match the theme~ It was the first brand-name Lolita dress I ever got! When BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT opened up for overseas lucky pack sales for the first time in 2008, that is when I got this dress in both pink and black.
Flower season is here!! On March 4, Kamiko and I went to 竹林山 (Zhulin Mountain) to take photos. Though the sakura blossoms were not in full bloom, we still got some nice photos as there is a large temple (觀音寺/Guanyin Temple) there.
It was really quite sunny!
Meiji is a common and popular brand of chocolate. Recently they did some collaboration with fashion brands! I may be late to the news as I am not on social media much any more. I want to share some of the ones I like though~
Of course, my favorite one is the BTSSB JSK available in milk and white chocolate!
I do wish it had a strawberry colorway available as well, or matcha. I love bunnybear and bearbear designs so much!
Metamorphose has a pretty design that isn't as obviously chocolate, and comes in red as well as brown!
What is your favorite flavor of chocolate? Mine is dark chocolate, typically 85%-95% is a good bittersweet spot for me
However, I bought a limited edition motherboard so I do not want a replacement with the regular one (same make and model and function) and therefore it will likely take more time and money to get only the RAM slot repaired.
I am creating problems for myself :3
I am fortunate that my Chromebook still works, so I can still do my regular work on it though!
Despite the rocky start, this weekend I've just been feeling more optimistic. So I hope things will turn around, ill-doers get what they deserve and learn a lesson, and we can have some happy and HEALTHY year going forward!
