On Friday I met up with my friend Tex for his last full day in Taiwan and went to the Kavalan Whisky Distillery in Yilan (previous visit with whisky mixing here)
We'd almost botched the date, and so were unable to get a time slot for the distillery tour in English, but did manage to tag onto a Chinese tour time slot ^u^v
Over the weekend I took a half-day trip with my friend Tex who is visiting from the US! He's much more into traveling around and knowing the history of Taiwan than I am, so I'm glad I got to go on an adventure with him~
We took a bus up to Wulai (I got motion sickness and a lady on the bus taught Tex how to press on the bit between the thumb and forefinger to help reduce it. My mom used to do that for me!) and went to a hot spring hotel to just soak in the tub!
Living somewhere, it is often easy to overlook local attractions in search of more "exotic" fun elsewhere. Taipei 101 is definitely one of those things for me! Despite how easy it is to access, I have never been to the observatory on the 89th and 91st floors... until now!
I don't believe I've written about the maid café I recently started going to. It's called Kokorolia 心物語 and I've gone three times now!
The maids are chatty and will make you feel welcomed, so I really appreciate that! The previous two times I went, I only ordered dessert, but this time I ordered a proper meal set.

Happy Halloween! On Sunday I went to a small Halloween tea party at Madam Rose with Doro and Kamiko~
I can't believe I forgot to post this draft! I went to hotpot at 聚(ju) Japanese hotpot (the teddy bear hotpot I previously posted about too) with Kamiko a couple weeks ago. They have a collaboration with Hello Kitty until the end of the year, so their soup base, which is normally in a bear shape, now has Hello Kitty with their logo bear!
On Saturday I went to the XPark aquarium in Taoyuan with my friend Doro! She had tickets from her workplace and her mother couldn't go with her, so we went together~
On Friday I took a half day off work to go to 平溪 (PingXi) with my mom and little sister to experience sky lanterns!
The shop offered both modern markers and traditional calligraphy brushes for writing/drawing on the lanterns.
Sky lanterns are meant to take your wishes up to the skies so you're meant to write your name and the blessings you wish to receive. The colors of the lanterns also have different meanings (the staff will explain to you) or you can get multicolored lanterns to get all the meanings at once!
It's been years since I've been to Rose House and my little sister Fruuuuefrue wanted afternoon tea, so we went there yesterday!
It was nice to visit this branch again! Several other branches have closed down. This one is in a tourist area so I hope that means they have better business! It's small, but still elegant.
Twinning in Lolita fashion is a lot of fun! When I went out, I twinned with my teddy bear~ We met up with Kamiko to grab some food and chat a bit.
Since my little sister Fruuuuefrue is visiting from the US, I've been going out pretty much every day! But been too tired from going out to blog properly.
Last Sunday we went to a drag show at an outdoor café. It was my first drag show in years! I'd previously only been to ones where I knew the performers personally for charity events, so this was different!
Yesterday I went to a dual-exhibition with my friend Doro! The comic exhibition was combine with the gamers exhibition, meaning it was extremely PACKED at the world trade center!
Doro and I decided on a red Alice theme for our outfits, so here I am in my BABY x Disney Alice in Wonderland JSK~
I asked Doro about this exhibit rather last minute. I found out about it on its first day opening, Thursday, and we went on Sunday. I was going solely for the chance to buy Cardcaptor Sakura goods!
On Sunday I got to meet up with another Singaporean friend who I met through Twitch! Kotoko and his wife came to Taiwan on holiday, and we met up in the evening.
It was raining the whole time, unfortunately, so our RaoHe night market trip was a bit short as many vendors did not come out. We still had a good time! I got some stinky tofu~ While I'm not a fan of the deep fried variety as much, this one was quite good! (Normally I prefer the grilled ones.)
I'm not a very sociable person and it is difficult for me to ask others to hang out, but I mustered up the courage and asked my friend Doro to hang out! It's been both hot and rainy recently, which does make wearing Lolita a bit risky sometimes. I brought an umbrella though only needed it briefly, and dressed casually.
So I guess this post can also be an example of wearing Lolita when it's hot and humid out!
Today is my birthday!! The morning was spent.... meeting with lawyers about the court case and opening a new case... not quite how one would hope to start the day~ So I wore something a little toned down for the meeting.
Afterward, my mom and I went to eat at a veg*n buffet~ The elevator area had a fun setup for taking photos while waiting for the elevator!

It's been rainy weather recently, but today was clear for a bit! I went out with a friend for a short while. We only had time to eat before she had a headache and wanted to go home O_Q But I did get dressed up!
It's been a while since I blogged! Since coming back from Singapore I haven't done anything really interesting to be honest. I did get motivated to start working on my 3D model again, so that's what I've been dedicating a lot of time to. Then, my mom's health took a turn after we got COVID and she's been in the hospital for a while now. I spent this past weekend at the hospital with her as well. It turns out there are some growths on her lung, and she got a small surgery to take samples for biopsy. We still don't know the details, but are taking things in stride!
Our original plan for the fourth day of Singapore trip was to go to the Cloud Dome and Flower Dome in the Gardens by the Bay. It's domes of plants and flowers, and Cloud Dome had an Avatar (the blue aliens) movie theme going on at the time! Unfortunately, they were booked full, so instead we went to the Marina Bay Sands skypark observatory and looked out over all of Singapore instead.
On our third day of Singapore trip, we went to the S.E.A. Aquarium! We met up with my online friend Tribby outside the aquarium and then all headed inside together~
On the second day of the Singapore trip, we had a meetup at HaiDiLao, a high-end hotpot place! We have this in Taiwan as well, but it was still a good place to meet up.
I took a short trip to Singapore recently! It was so much fun to finally meet online friends in real life~
The trip was planned with kiratasama and his brother and cousin, who were in the Philippines. We all arrived on March 4! What we didn't know was that we would land at different terminals. Fortunately, my friend SirSolicitous had taken it upon himself to come be the welcoming party, found me, and arranged for us to all meet at Terminal 3 so we could head to our hotel!
After we checked in, we went to a German restaurant around 7:390PM to meet up with our friends chermibear, her partner scical, himetokki, wigglemuggle, and later shinosaito joined us directly off his own flight from Taiwan back to Singapore! I even received a bouquet of flowers from Wiggle! It was so sweet.
On Saturday I met up with Shinosaito, who I met through streaming on Twitch! He came to Taiwan with his family and we met up~
Last week I went to the same hotel as recent lolita meetups with my cousin, his wife, and my mother for their themed afternoon tea again! This time, the theme is Strawberry! I was curious how they would make savory strawberry dishes.
Yesterday my friend PikaWu landed in Taiwan and we spent the day together!
After some late breakfast and a failed attempt to pie me in the face (we couldn't find whipped cream, strangely enough...) which was a sub reward from my Twitch stream, we took a bus over to Yilan to visit the Kavalan Whisky Distillery where we'd booked a whisky mixing experience!

I've recently been getting back into doing makeup, and today did a grunge-type look that is really not my usual style. The blouse is new :3 It's my first time getting a blouse with this style of sleeves and I think it ended up looking nice! I also got it in black.
I think this outfit is a good example of my daily Lolita outfits. It's quite simple and easy to wear (the back is fully shirred) and comfortable. The dress is from a BTSSB happy pack! It's got little bunnies on it :3
