MEOW! 🙀 It's almost Halloween! I celebrated a day early by going to Kokorolia Maid Cafe again~ They had a week-long Halloween event where the maids dress up each day, so I decided to sort of dress up today, too! Unfortunately, a typhoon is hitting tomorrow, so the weather is already a bit rainy.
I didn't actually have a costume, so I used makeup and face crystals that I bought after Halloween back in 2019 or so when I was in the US! It took over an hour JUST for the crystals 🙀 and my press-on nails did not make it any easier! I used a pair of tweezers to handle most of the gems, but some were a bit large and unwieldy.
This past weekend we had our October Lolita meetup! It was a crafting meetup instead of a Halloween one, so I didn't actually wear anything spooky. To be honest, I will likely wear the same outfit for Halloween this year as I have in the years past as I haven't been able to buy any new clothing at all 😿
Last night I went on a bit of a bar crawl at 西門町/Ximending with Aonele and her friends! I wore something spooky this time as it's been quite a while since I last did a full face of spooky makeup!
For those of you who have been in Lolita for a long time, you probably remember the international Lolita community on livejournal... and that's where Aonele and I met! It's been over 15 years since we've known each other! We first met up in person in 2014 at the Barbie Cafe~
Recently I posted about going to a Cardcaptor Sakura Pop-up Shop but they were sold out of some of the items I wanted to buy, so I ordered online. There was a delay as the umbrella (my main item I wanted!) was delayed by the manufacturer, and the shipment only just arrived recently!
I'm super happy with everything~

I went to Kokorolia maid cafe with my friends again! The outfit was rather last-minute and I should have worn an underskirt >_< My petticoat is showing in the photo 🙀

This time it's Sushiro, the Japanese brand of conveyor belt sushi. One branch got a full makeover with interior decorations, but it's too far away to bother going to, so my friends and I met up at a closer one. There was only a Rajang standee here, but I got a photo!

Oh boy was today a test of my emotional regulation! For some reason, I've been quite low in mood and energy today and yesterday, but I had plans with my mom today and really didn't want to be a downer. It feels like a lot of small, inconsequential things have simply added up to make me feel mentally and emotionally in the dumps, so I couldn't enjoy Moon Festival (also called Mid-Autumn Festival) as wholly as I would have liked, but I made the most of the day!
Recently, I decided to give press-on nails a try again. All previous attempts have resulted in nails popping off within a day or two, even using nail glue. This is likely due to my strangely-shaped nail beds (flat with sharply curved sides, and two nails are "twisted" like a corkscrew so one side is lower than the other) that often leaves gaps under the press-ons.
I found some relatively cheap nails online on Shopee and bought several sets along with "jelly stickers" for adhesion. I was hoping the nail stickers would help create a smoother surface area for the press-ons to stick too! I also got both long and short nails to see if it made a difference.
The first set I tried was a 24-piece set made of thin plastic. I dipped them in hot water and pressed against my natural nails to flatten them out more and hopefully stick better. This is a trick I learned from the internet. This let me pick out which nail size fit which finger best as well. 💅
✨Point! Do not dip into the hot water for too long or use boiling water (I used just off the boil, and dipped for 1-2 seconds) or the nails may actually warp out of shape from excessive heat!
It's been 25 years of Cardcaptor Sakura! I went to a little exhibit/pop-up shop with my friend yesterday. We met up at 6:30 for the tiny little shop, as it was a work day and we couldn't meet earlier.
I also did my hair in a new style for the first time!
Monster Hunter has been around for 20 years already! Can you believe it? So there are some events happening around the world, and we got a collaboration with a Japanese restaurant called 吉豚屋(Ji Tuen Wu/Katsuya) here!
Yesterday I went to the branch that had decorations in the restaurant with a couple hunter friends. I wore a casual punk Lolita coord that is sort of a go-to haha! You might have seen it before~
This past weekend I had a random day out with a friend! I was struck by an ad on Instagram for a salmon noodles place (where the noodles are made of salmon; it's essentially sashimi in a different shape. No wheat noodles involved!) and ended up going with my friend. I wore a casual outfit for the hot, humid day~

It's been so hot recently! Summer is full power! And we had our August meetup around the theme of summer and fruits~ So the dress code was "yellow or fruits" and I chose to wear a yellow dress~
Yesterday I went to a restaurant I've been wanting to go to for a while called Chocoholic where they specialize in... you guessed it, chocolate! So even their savory dishes mostly contain chocolate! Unfortunately, they also all contain meat, so I wasn't able to try any of them!! Even the Chocolate Seafood Lasagna had bacon in it!
Instead, I tried the spinach salmon quiche which was pretty good! I also ordered an Aztec hot chocolate, which is mildly spicy and very delicious. It's not too sweet, but has the richness of chocolate flavor accompanied by a bit of heat kick. Scrumptious!
This week Kokorolia, the maid cafe I like to go to, has a Chinese theme event! So all the maids are wearing Chinese theme clothing! From qipao-inspired fluffy dresses to modernized hanfu, so of course I had to go!
And I had to wear my own Chinese-themed Lolita dress!
Hello! It's been a while since I posted as I haven't really done much interesting stuff! So here's some recent updates from my life~
Kokorolia had a Magical Girl Week so of course I had to go, and I got Teddy into her Cardcaptor Sakura cosplay outfit as well! I purchased a Polaroid snap with my favorite maid (all their outfits were so cute, I wish we could take photos!)
On Sunday May 5 we had our May tea party! Same place as usual, JR 東日本 Metropolitan Hotel, and the theme for the afternoon tea this time was matcha flavor! The price went up a tad (NT$700 >> NT$740) but it's still worth it in my opinion as everything is delicious!
Recently I have been thinking of curating my wardrobe to make it easier to make coordinates and downsize my closet. While I'm not sure whether I'll document the whole process, I thought I'd share the bag portion at least!

It has been so many years since I took the long MRT ride up to Tamsui! Because I had a friend visiting, we decided to go together and I took a half day off from work. The weather was threatening rain, but fortunately just remained a bit overcast, so it wasn't too hot and a jacket was just right!
I recently saw the Hanamomo Shangri-La print posted on BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT Instagram account and love it! It's unique to see peaches used as a print, along with the fans in the print.

For our meetup this month, we went to JR as usual. The afternoon tea set theme this time was a collaboration with French chef Nicolas Boussin! There was no dress code, so I wore Wa-Lolita this time. I also tried a new way of doing my hair.

On Wednesday, my friend from Canada arrived, and I spent the day helping him get his bank and APRC (Alien Permanent Residence Card) updated. It was a lot of running around from 9:30AM to around 5:30PM but we got it all done and then got food!
First, he came over to shower and keep his suitcase here until he could check into his BnB. We went to the bank and unfortunately, he forgot his stamp, so we grabbed some lunch before heading back to my place to grab the stamp.
We passed a place called Pizza Rock and it was good!
I wasn't kidding about being busy!!

On Sunday was the 10-year anniversary of a Lolita market! It has been YEARS since I've gone. Since I got rid of facebook, I miss out on a lot of events, but I was able to catch this one and I'm so happy I was able to attend again!

Maybe I've just been lonely recently, but I went to another cat café over the weekend! This one was also quite nice! It's called 貳巷貓弄 Catfeine near Banqiao station and has a pretty extensive food menu.
After a bit of drinking for New Year (and a day of recovering as I was, and am, still sick) what better way to start the year off right than to visit a cat cafe?
It was my first time here at this location, 和貓咪有約, and they have got a LOT of cats and the majority of them are openly jumping onto your tables and chairs!
Recently I got a foot massage for the first time! I twinned with my teddy bear in this lovely BABY dress~ It's a rather light and airy material, but the layers I wore (and cotton socks) kept me warm enough in the winter!
